His brother just arrived from a cross-county drive from New York to Oregon. It took him 5 days. Stopping three times to rest, and as he is now telling, he stopped a dozen times here and there for a coffee and an inspirational moment where he sat down for an hour at a park bench to write down his great ideas. Now he paced the room with bursts of angry sounds. He flung his arms out in frustration, he'd never seen his brother so angry or in such a worried state. He is a millionaire. A man that has everything, yet a good and generous person. He got to where he is now because he is a genius.
So the reason for his outburst of anger was for no one but himself. For misplacing his little black book. The book where he wrote down all his great ideas. And great ideas they are. The latest being a device that gets your normal gasoline-powered cars running on saltwater. Yes, it does sound impossible but don't ask me I'm not the genius in the family thought the man. He had to sit back and laugh for a minute before he got a glare from my brother.
"Relax bro."He said "You will get it back. Everybody knows you and they will hand it in." He tried to reassure him."
"You don't understand. I haven't patented it yet. Anyone could steal my ideas and make millions." The brother replied in frustration.
"And that wouldn't be the end of the world really. It's all for the Better World Movement. You said so yourself. Plus you have more money than you'll ever need anyways."The man laughed trying to cheer his brother up.
"You are right." The brother smiled, seeming a bit more relaxed," but still you know how much my little black book means to me."
He new indeed how much it meant to his brother, since he was 16 or so he carried the book around with him wherever he went, writing down his great ideas whenever they popped into his head.
"I know, let the news go viral and award the person who hands it in," he suggested to him.
He went straight to his phone and started writing. Facebook, twitter, instagram. He had to wait only three hours. Then he got the call.
The girl sat down in her favorite spot. The park bench facing the river. Springtime in Colorado is beautiful. The grass was turning green and the daffodils were just starting to open. The blossoms in the trees filled the scenery with color and the air with a sweet smell. The robins were out dancing in the trees this morning. Her heart was feeling full of love. She was happy this morning. She woke up thinking of the movement to make the world a better place. Something that was catching on all over the globe. She was waiting for life to give her a message in direction. She had nothing but the clothes on her back, the backpack and a sleeping bag. At the age of twenty-one life was a great adventure. She often thought of going back to her dads' farm or maybe back to school. The last 3 years she traveled the states. Working on farms and helping out in some different projects. Sleeping where ever she may, under a tree in the park or on the couch of a friend. She was staying now for the last three months with some friends in town. They talked every day about their next big project. Still in the stages of fund-raising. The land was found but they still needed another twenty thousand at least. The girl closed her eyes and sent a prayer out that they would get what they needed to start on this great project.
She sat there eyes closed for a good long moment. Taking in the sounds and smells. The sound of the robins in the trees brought her back to the moment. She opened her eyes, looking up in the trees when something caught her eyes below. It was a black note book. She went and picked it up. Flipping through it, it seemed to be someone's notes. Filled with writing and mathematical formulas. When she saw the name in the front she was taken back. For a moment she couldn't believe it. Surely there were many people with the same name? Could it be Mr.Jones himself? The most famous inventor in the movement? She sat down under the tree. The book in her lap. She wondered if Mr. Jones had sat there to write down his great ideas. She opened the book to the last page written. The last entry was dated yesterday. The girl sat for the next two hours reading through the book. She could barely believe her eyes. She understood she was looking over very valuable information and after reading it through she had no doubt she was reading the notes from Mr. Jones's notebook. Many thoughts ran through her head. Maybe she could make a million, selling the information or maybe she should just leave the book there. He might come back looking for it. The date being just from yesterday he probably wasn't too far away. She decided to check his social media. The man was posting quite often. She laughed out loud when she saw that he was indeed looking for his notebook. Wow, she thought. The girl was filled with a feeling that made her throw her head back and laugh. The robins that were chirping in the trees were startled and flew away. Twenty thousand dollars!! Mr.Jones was offering twenty thousand dollars to the one that found the book. The girl couldn't believe her fortune. She sat in a daze for a moment not sure what to do next. She was a good person, honest in her ways. She dialed the number provided. She was overjoyed that she could go back to her friends today and tell them she'd be getting the twenty thousand they needed and the connection with Mr. Jones might open new paths. It was her childhood dream to work with the man himself.
