The likeable Pig

I was lost lets face it stuck in a remote area of Australia and not a sole around not the situation you want to find yourself in.

Not wanting to drive around until I ran out of fuel and having to spend the night stuck out somewhere in Australia's harsh outback I had to find someone quick smart! No Cell or Mobile phone coverage made it hell of a lot worse.

With my fuel level going down to desperation level I spotted a lone farmstead miles from anywhere and well off the beaten track.

Looking in the distance of the Farm House I noticed a what appeared to be a nasty looking dog that probably would eat strangers alive!

I gave a yell trying to attract someone and finally managed to get what appeared to be the farmer coming down to see what I wanted. The vicious looking dog trailing close behind him.

Then I noticed that the dog was not a dog but a big black Pig and that it had only 3 legs!

I asked the farmer for directions to the closest town which he gave me. Then the farmer asked me why didn’t I walk up to the farmhouse to get directions it would had saved him a long walk down to the main gate.

I told him I was afraid of getting a bitten off by his nasty looking dog who I had first spotted sitting on his front Verandah and whom I now saw was not a dog but a very large Black Pig.

Thanking the farmer for the directions to the nearest town I found that I just had to ask the farmer “How come your black pig has only 3 legs?”

The farmer replied, that this black pig had saved the life of one of his children when it fell into the farmers dam some time ago so instead of eating the pig they spared its life and kept it as a pet! To which I replied “Thank you, but how come it’s only got 3 legs?’

Further more the farmer went on, that black pig saved all of our lives when the farmhouse caught fire sometime ago. It risked its own life by charging into the farmhouse when we were sleeping and woke us all up so we managed to escape! Also, one other time I broke my leg when cleaning up one of our huge outback properties that we grow Wheat and Barley on. I somehow fell off the Tractor when I hit a low lying branch and it knocked me off the Tractor. Lucky for me though, the black pig was nearby and it came to my rescue by getting help for me from some workers nearby. That's amazing I said, But how come your black pig has only 3 legs?

That's not all he goes on, another time I was bitten by a Red Belly black snake and could have died except for that black pig. He went and found some rope in the shed that I could use as a tourniquet and but unfortunately the rope was to large and wouldn't have worked. I was just about to lay down and die but that Black Pig somehow sensed I was in real trouble and even with the day temperature being around 40 C and the ground being baking hot that Black Pig kept going backwards and forwards to the shed, (which was quite some distance away) bringing me back ropes of all sizes until I had the one like a cord that did the job beautifully!

Please tell me for the last time!! WHY IS YOUR BLACK PIG HAS ONLY 3 LEGS?

Well, the farmer replied,( finally! ) You know what is when you like something you don’t eat it all at once!!!
