Love Across Time

By GabilPublished 12 months ago 4 min read

Alya, a young art teacher living a simple life in a small town, lost her first love, Raka, in a tragic accident five years ago. Although she tries to move on, Raka’s memory lingers. One day, a businessman named Adrian moves to town and seeks Alya’s collaboration on a social art project. As they work together, their bond deepens, but Alya still harbors feelings for Raka, complicating her emotions toward Adrian.

Adrian, too, carries a secret from his past, and as their relationship develops, both of them must confront their fears and unresolved pain. In the end, they learn that love isn’t about possession, but about letting go and finding peace within themselves. Their emotional journey brings them closer, teaching them how to love again, but in a different way.

Chapter 1: Unforgettable Loss

Alya starts her days with a routine that hasn’t changed in five years. Every morning, she sits in her classroom surrounded by her students’ artwork. The biggest painting in the room, a sunset scene, always reminds her of Raka. Every brushstroke on that canvas brings back memories she can't escape.

The painting represents everything that was once beautiful—dreams of traveling the world, watching sunsets in different places. But those plans vanished when Raka died. Alya has tried moving on, but no one can ever replace him in her heart.

One morning, a well-dressed, confident man named Adrian walks into the school for the first time. He’s here to ask Alya to collaborate on a social art project for children from various backgrounds.

"I believe art can change the world, and I want these kids to feel that power," Adrian says with enthusiasm.

Though hesitant, Alya agrees to the project, knowing it could bring a new spark into her life. Little does she know, this collaboration will mark the beginning of a life-changing journey for both of them.

Chapter 2: An Unexpected Beginning

Adrian, a successful businessman, hides a deep sense of emptiness despite his wealth and status. Raised in a family that valued social standing over personal happiness, Adrian has always felt disconnected from others. When he meets Alya, something clicks. Despite her simplicity, there’s a depth to her that draws him in.

The art project becomes the bridge that connects them. They begin spending more time together, sharing stories about their pasts and dreams for the future. But Alya can’t shake off her lingering feelings for Raka, and Adrian feels the tension between them.

"I have everything, but I feel like I have no one, Alya," Adrian admits one evening while they watch the stars.

Alya, gazing at the night sky, responds, "Sometimes we have to stop searching and just learn to accept what we already have."

Chapter 3: Seeking Peace

As their relationship deepens, Alya feels torn between her memories of Raka and her growing affection for Adrian. Although Adrian has shown his softer side, encouraging Alya to open her heart, she feels guilty every time she feels more than friendship toward him. How can she fall in love again after losing Raka?

Adrian, on the other hand, is beginning to sense that something holds Alya back. He wants to connect with her on a deeper level, but the walls she’s built around her heart are hard to penetrate. His own past, filled with loneliness despite being surrounded by wealth, makes him empathize with her pain.

The art project gains recognition, and their efforts begin to inspire the children involved. But the project also brings new challenges that test their growing bond.

Chapter 4: A Secret That Haunts

Adrian is faced with a dilemma when he decides to write a book about their art project and its impact on the children. In the process, he reveals a painful secret about his past—a tragic loss of a woman he once loved, one that altered the course of his life. This revelation shakes Alya, who begins to question whether they can truly build a future together with all the unresolved pain from their pasts.

One evening, after a heated discussion, Alya vents her fears. "I can’t keep living like this, Adrian. I care about you, but I don’t know how to let go of Raka. You don’t understand what it’s like to lose someone that deeply. I’m afraid that if I stay here, I’ll lose myself."

Adrian tries to explain, "Alya, I don’t want you to forget Raka. I just want to be here for you. But I need to face my own past, too, and that’s not easy."

Chapter 5: The Climax

The climax of the story occurs during the opening night of their big art exhibition. Children from various backgrounds showcase their artwork, and the atmosphere is emotional and vibrant. But during the event, an unexpected turn of events forces Alya and Adrian to face a painful choice: Adrian receives a job offer that requires him to leave the town for a long time, and Alya feels like she’s losing him, just as she had lost Raka.

The tension between them reaches its peak, and they must decide whether to continue their relationship or part ways.

The Happy Ending

Alya, in search of closure, visits Raka’s grave for the last time. There, she speaks to him with an open heart, finally saying goodbye. "I will always love you, Raka. But now, I need to learn to love myself."

With newfound peace, Alya returns to Adrian, who has decided to stay in the town. They both realize that love isn’t about holding on to the past, but about finding room to grow and accept each other.

They begin a new chapter of their lives together, not forgetting the past but embracing it as part of their journey. In the end, they learn that true love is about healing, letting go, and making space for something new.
