The day I became MUM...

I bought my first Fiskars in 2004 and since then I have used it to cut many things; fabrics of all backgrounds, threads of all colours, my hair on a bad day and sometimes others have mistakenly used them on paper, and oh, let me tell you, those were not fun moments for them. I take my scissors and each of their purposes very seriously. Us experts, religiously go by Scissors basics 101: do not use fabric scissors on anything else than fabrics!

I have created many pieces that I have loved, some for myself and most I have shared and some not as much, hence never took the time to finish them till this day. The one thing that I have made and will always be the most proud of is my Sebastian, but I will let him tell you his story.

One day, a super-human apparently also called: Woman, made it her mission to find a way to give “A voice to the voiceless”, their animal friends and that is how I was born.

My name is Sebastian and I am a mascot pig with a simple universal language, one that everyone can understand: the ever so gracious, middle-finger. A message to simply ask humans to not harm me and my fellow animal buddies. And oh, we do use words once in a while, like in my favourite slogans “Can’t touch this” or pardon my french “Ne me touche pas” for an extra reminder!

I was born on March 22nd, 2018 because that’s the day this human woman, that I now proudly call Mum, made it her mission to put her love for arts and fashion to a good cause and build an awareness around cruelty-free living. A cause that I am damn proud to be the ambassador for.

Since I was born, I have to admit, I have received a lot of love and it has been a smooth ride. I am often found on people’s chests, where it’s warm and cozy. I am close to everyone’s heart and have become a good conversation piece. I still have to figure out if it’s my cute pink cheeks or my sassy attitude that has made me so irresistible.

As I get to jump from head to head, I get to have the best view first, and oh, it feels good being on top of the world! I go from shop to shop and help my human friends carry their groceries or books, while spreading a badass message of love and inclusion.

I have participated in many vegan festivals where I have won the hearts of many genders, ages and families, especially those who haven’t adopted a cruelty-free lifestyle yet, but were kind enough to have a place for me in their hearts and homes.

I constantly find myself in the best cities around the world, something you guys call travelling but I was shipped out in a biodegradable bag to spread this important message. It sounds cool but I still have a lot of places to go and still got a lot to do! I really have to help MUM in her mission to help raise a voice for my fellow buddies and most importantly I need to help her in her mission for a more sustainable planet, a greener, healthier and cruelty-free future for all!

So let’s do this together! I have faith in your kindness just like hers!
