Thank You And Good Night

A Fictional Grave Condition Message Loosely Inspired And Submitted To The Letters Of Gratitude Challenge

Dear Angelic Wonder:

Sunset is ending, welcoming very soon darkness appearing, projecting a single guiding light illuminating my heavenly journey. I do not know which way you will interpret my path I traveled in life and wanted to take a few moments to thank you for a wonderful entertaining experience, filled with joyful memories.

Everything started nearly a century ago, during a romantic getaway where my parents escaped daily pressures, creating an enchanting weekend where their uncontrollable emotions defined the rest of their lives, showing loving togetherness, hinting God, ‘bless this special union relationship with me’.

Next, I would like to thank my paternal guardians for raising me in a supportive environment, making sure I was well fed and educated. These two elements formed my positive personality and needs, that produced an enthusiastic individual, respectful of many different intriguing social opportunities, where I hope my interaction was appropriate.

Buddy James is another person who I would like to thank, for being my childhood friend. We spent our youthful years together learning, planning pranks, defending each other from the perils bestowed when innocent play turned into a dramatic scene concluding with begetter’s judgement. Once the adults rendered their verdict, we both matured, growing a few more feet, inserted perfectly in our age group.

My elementary school crush should also be thanked, Miss Daniels. She showed me both my weaknesses and strengths, focusing on what I was good at, sitting at the typewriter writing stories instead of sweating like a pig trying to get a better score. Through her kind support my grades were always honorable and never did I end up in the hospital having permanent injuries.

As for the ladies, there were too many, and I would hate forgetting my true love who will probably be there at the pearly gates waiting, arms folded. Each beautiful creature I courted deserves a moment to know, how important they were to me, and with that private thought noted, let us proceed into the professional world where I obtained International successful fame.

With those friendly failures declared I would like to thank all the Editors at the publishing house inside the local mall, above the bookstore. Their true honest commentaries gave me insight, allowing me to display many issues, using fiction characters, who only I could imagine. With a gracious touch and marketing wizardly the distributors got my views globally heard and as I leave this world, I will truly be grateful, realizing the tremendous job they performed during our partnership lasting decades.

Finally, I would like to thank the health care workers who made my final years comfortable. They all handled duties which the fortunate marital couples and offsprings accomplish while negotiating several legal settlements. Since these luxuries were not my reality those bearing the red cross handled filling out the paperwork, encouraging this recent tranquil sensation to take over, leaving no worries, only proper closure.

I do not know if anyone will be there when I settle down in my new world, personally I would love to engage with those who departed before me, and I hope this thank you gesture will smooth over any rough edges.

Now it is time for me to sleep, only you, angelic wonder or maybe the machines with computerized lights can decide if the rest is eternal peace. Remember, I did my best in this challenging universe and if that is not good enough for passing the moral test, I would like to thank you for being sincere. In closing, when finished please send me to the proper place where I belong and I will accept your decision, even if the air conditioner is not working.

See you soon
