My Superpowers

I am giving this a try. Of course my entry will not be judged nor will I be in the running for any of the prizes. But I figure if I’m putting the challenge out there I might as well attempt the challenge myself.

So here goes!

✵Rick Henry Christopher’s Ten Superpowers✵

🦸🏻‍♂️🦸🏻‍♂️🦸🏻‍♂️🦸🏻‍♂️🦸🏻‍♂️

Superpower #1 / The Power of Budgeting

I am exceptional with finances and budgeting. I’m one of those people who can take $100 and make it spend like $150, and even sometimes like $200. I never forgo quality in the things I buy, but I always look for the deal and the best price. Quality costs more but in the long run it saves money. I also buy large quantities as the price is lower per ounce, square inch, pound, etc. I also make use of coupons..

Superpower #2 / The Power of Accomplishment

Multitasking is my specialty. I’m one of those people that can take on several tasks and accomplish every single one of them. I am expert at focusing. I don’t only multitask but I pay close attention to detail and complete each task fulfilling the specifications required to properly do the job.

Superpower #3 / The Power of Imperfection

I do not have to be perfect all the time nor do I have to have all the answers. It is okay if I mess up. I don’t have to be everything to everyone. I don’t need to be perfect in every situation and I don’t expect myself to be so. I can get mad and I can say or write dumb things - even if it’s something done publicly - it is okay for me to mess up because ultimately I can forgive myself and love myself.

Superpower #4 / The Power of Happycore

I am happy to the core. No matter what happens at the end of the day my happiness is still there.

Superpower #5 / The Power of Love

I know and understand unconditional love. In eight words: Unconditional love is not easy but it’s beautiful.

Superpower #6 / The Power of Honoring Your Elders

I appreciate that I have been given the opportunity to take care of my mom and that I have accepted that opportunity and I will see it through to the end.

Superpower #7 / The Power of Prayer

I am able to pray effectively. But, I appreciate that I understand that prayer is a multifaceted action with which we are given the opportunity to communicate and gain focus. It helps to soothe the soul and refresh the mind. But also furnish the knowledge we need to move forward with deeds and actions.

Superpower #8 / The Power of Taking It Easy

Success in life includes balance.I know that I can sit back and take it easy. I don’t always have to be alert and ready. I can be aloof and lazy and watch mindless sitcoms like The Munsters and Gilligan’s Island if I should choose to. Relaxing is a major factor in maintaining both your mental and physical health.

Superpower #9 / The Power of Knowing Yourself

I appreciate that I know who I am and why I’m here on earth. I appreciate that I am a worthwhile person with purpose and value.

Superpower #10 / The Power of People

I see myself as a resident of the world first and a citizen of the United States second. I pledge my allegiance to people, not to a flag. I pledge to love thy neighbor and thy enemy. I pledge to love immigrants, especially those seeking asylum, sanctuary or refuge from a violent and dangerous country or community.

Leviticus 19:33-34:

"When a foreigner resides among you in your land, do not mistreat them. The foreigner residing among you must be treated as your native-born. Love them as yourself, for you were foreigners in Egypt. I am the LORD your God."

+++++

Thank you, friends. This was an interesting exercise. I kind of felt that at times I was being preachy. Other times I felt like I was being boastful. Then, I felt like maybe I was giving too much information TMI. I almost wasn’t going to publish this, but then the inner me said, “Ah, just do it.”

With Love, RHC ❤️

Number 1 is really impressive to me! I'm still trying to master that power myself.

My dad is good at budgeting too. (Me, not so much, but I am working on it). I wish I had your multitasking skill (that’s a great one to have and would help a lot!) I love number three and four a lot. It’s funny as these are all things I wish to be. ☺️ Excellent job Rick. I didn’t think it was preachy or boastful at all. It captures your personality and your strengths. This is a good thing!

  • Very well written. Keep up the good work! Congrats to you for having a Top Story.

  • Congratulations on your top story! You are all the above. Awesome!

Fantastic list of superpowers, Rick. My favourite superpower, which I also have, is number nine. I think many of the other superpowers are born from knowing yourself. At least, that’s what I think. I keep on reading these entries to see if I push myself to write mine. I am pretty sure I will fail. As said, I know myself. 🤗 I also know sometimes I’m wrong. So, we’ll see.

  • Back to say congratulations on your Top Story! 🎉💖🎊🎉💖🎊

How wonderful to read your list, Rick! Love that you can identify so many wonderful positives about yourself and that you've encouraged so many to do the same! Wish I could multi-task but I can't at all!

Enjoyed reading this article. I never paid attention to the unofficial challenges until this one. After reading your article I think I need to format my entry differently. I am like that anymore- Ah just do it. I felt like that about this challenge, because it was unofficial and only the older writers entered, but I said to myself Ah - just do it, so I am. I hope that I get it finished in time. Great super powers!!! Great article - Nicely Done and nice of you to sponsor this challenge.

All are great powers, Rick. #9 is hard for most people, IMO. The most important quest we all have is answering the question: "Who am I?" ⚡💙⚡

Well-wrought, Rick! I got no super-powers. Like Batman, but without the money or gadgets. I do have the sense of Justice though! I'd like to see the military powers of the world (including the U.S.) stop bombing and exploiting others out of their countries so they don't have to be uprooted from the homes they love. That's been a sermon of mine for awhile that always seems to fall on deaf ears...

  • What an empowering way to look at your strengths

  • Rachel Robbins8 months ago

Not preachy or boastful. Empowering would be closer. ❤️

  • I suck and both multitasking and focusing, lol. I enjoyed reading this!

  • Well catalogued, Rick, Now as the youth of yesteryear liked to say, "Power up!"
