Take care of THYSELF

It's always been a great feeling when you love doing something that you're passionate about, but we always have to take care of ourselves too.

By John Lloyd PolicarpioPublished 3 years ago 2 min read

Nina had always been a passionate dancer. She had devoted her life to honing her craft, and her hard work and dedication paid off when she was accepted into a prestigious dance academy in New York City.

Nina thrived in the intense environment of the academy, pushing herself to be the best dancer she could be and devoting all her time to her craft. However, her single-minded focus on dance came at a great cost.

One day, while practicing a particularly difficult routine, Nina injured her ankle. The injury was severe, and the doctors told her that she would have to take a break from dancing for several months in order to recover.

At first, Nina was devastated. Dancing was her whole life, and she couldn't imagine how she would fill her time without it. But as she spent more time away from the dance studio, Nina began to realize that there was more to life than just dance.

Without dance to fill up her schedule, Nina had time to pursue other interests and connect with people outside of the dance world. She took up writing and discovered a newfound love for exploring the city on foot. She also began to spend more time with her family and friends, something she had neglected in her single-minded pursuit of dance.

As her ankle healed, Nina found that she had gained a new perspective on life. She realized that while dance would always be a big part of her life, it wasn't the only thing that mattered. She began to see that her identity didn't have to be solely defined by her passion for dance, and that she could still be a happy and fulfilled person even if she wasn't dancing all the time.

As she returned to the dance world, Nina took her newfound perspective with her. She found that her time away from dance had allowed her to see the art form in a new light, and she approached her practice with a new level of appreciation and gratitude.

Nina also learned to take better care of herself, both mentally and physically. She learned that having a healthy balance between her personal life and her passion for dance was the key to her overall happiness and wellbeing.

What Nina learned was that life is about balance. It's important to pursue your passions and work hard to achieve your goals, but it's equally important to take time for yourself and to connect with the people and world around you. True happiness and fulfillment come not just from success in one area of life, but from living life in a sustainable and balanced way.

Nina's injury had forced her to take a break and see life from a different perspective, and it ended up being the best thing that could have happened to her. She achieved even greater success in her dancing career, while also living a more well-rounded and fulfilling life.

In the end, Nina realized that there was a lesson to be learned from everything that happens in life. Every obstacle or setback is an opportunity for growth and a chance to gain new perspective. Life is about more than just achieving success - it's about living fully and authentically in the present moment, and finding a healthy balance between the things that matter most to you.
