Sharing The Spotlight

Part 2 of a series

Top Story - November 2025

Welcome to part two of my series, "Sharing the Spotlight"!

If you're new here, I decided to write this series to give other writers a little bit more of a spotlight (not that mine is very big in the first place, but that doesn't matter.)

I think we should ALL be supporting each other as best as we can. I love reading peoples work. There is something so beautiful about reading human words. I like to think about the thought process and time that went into it and I think that's something only other writers have consideration for, or even think twice about at all. It's not just words on a screen or paper for us. It's our time, our effort... and that deserves acknowledgment.

If you missed the first piece, you can find it here:

Also, if you find something you loved, maybe share it in the comments! There are so many great stories to be read and unfortunately, I can't fit them all into one piece!

So, here we go with round two! Twelve categories. Twelve stories. Let's do this!

Families

1.) Shelbi Thomas- I fed my kids chicken nuggets and I am not sorry

Shelbi couldn't be more right. My own daughter is going through a picky phase and is surviving on Kellogs Krave cereal, chocolate milk, macaroni and cheese, and hopes and prayers. Internet parents are perfect and would hate me for that. they'd argue about my child's diet and call me a terrible mother. I left every single mom group I was in on Facebook when I reached out for a nail-biting problem my child had and in turn was told how bad of a mother I am for allowing it to get to the point it was. They disregarded that I had even taken her to a doctor for it. It's amazing how many perfect are on the internet, especially when they don't even have kids! Everyone on the internet is an expert in everything! It's truly astonishing!

In case you can't tell, I'm totally kidding. Most people on the internet are stupid and use copy and paste for all of their opinions. But I digress, I love Shelbi's piece and it's worth a read!

Feast

2.) Eunice Kamau- Meatball Stew

I came for the picture. I stayed for the story and the recipe. This article was like a warm bowl of stew for your brain, and the recipe sounds yummy, affordable, and healthy! A triple win! I'm gonna be trying it this season for sure!

Fiction

3.) Precious Words- White Cats

I've read a ton of stories about black cats for Halloween. This was the first I have ever seen about white cats for Halloween. An interesting choice and the reason I chose this piece as we close up the Halloween season.

Filthy-

4.) Filthy Staff- Funniest Condoms

I admittedly do not spend any time if the "Filthy" community. It's just not my vibe as far as writings go. However, staying true to the prompt I've given myself, I wanted to select one story from every community, including the one's I do not frequent. So, after a little digging, I came across this article about condoms and safe sex but in a silly and fun yet also informative way.

Future

5.) Minaal- How to future proof your career in the age of AI: A guide for the curious.

While I am not a fan of AI myself, points have been made. This community itself made it a little complicated to find a human generated piece. I finally found is one and maybe it will be helpful to someone here.

FYI

6.) Margaret Minnicks- Hello November

A nice little informative piece about November. There were quite a few things I didn't know about, and I thought this would be a perfect choice as we head into November.

Gamers

7.) Precious Words- Did Someone Remember This Game?

Ok, so I may be a little biased here because I simply love Vice City. In my opinion, it was the best GTA of the series that I have played. Finding this article brought me back to so many fun moments with this game. I remember stealing cars just to vibe to the soundtrack. 🤣

Geeks

8.) Clyde E. Dawkins- Reviewing "9-1-1: Nashville" Following Their Series-Opening Arc

I love 911 so much! Apparently, Clyde does too and his piece reviewing the latest installment is great!

History

9.) Francis Dami- By altering their posture, ancient reptiles grew larger.

An interesting and informative piece about reptiles. Go learn something, I did!

Horror

10.) Jasmine Aguilar- Am I Pretty?

I am absolutely enamored with urban legends. This is one I had never heard of before reading Jasmine's piece. So creepy and interesting! It definitely gives a damned if you do or don't vibe which makes it even more terrifying!

Humans

11.) Anthony Gramuglia- Is a Sense of Humor Key to a Successful Relationship?

I have always said I would never have interest in anyone who could not make me laugh. This article elaborated why it's so important to have someone around you that can make you laugh. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Humor

12.) Ian Munene- The Day My Cooking Almost Burned Down the Kitchen

The part about the garlic turning from fragrant to funeral actually made me laugh out loud. 😆

So, those are my twelve picks from these communities. I hope you all have enjoyed them as much as I did! Please remember if you are reading someone's work to like it and support them (clicking that little heart is free!) Maybe leave them a comment about what you liked or even what you didn't. We all have room for improvement, and we all deserve to be acknowledged! We are all in this together!

📖🎉Of course you would have me craving chicken nuggets, and I've only just started scrolling, lol. 📖🎉Other writers. Yes. I totally agree. Any other person, and they will only seek to point out the unnecessary. Not the sweet things we spend a lot of time on. That's the value of another writer reading and commenting. 📖🎉But I've got a confession. Due to the length of my comments, I take much longer to get on track with things. But I am slowly getting there. I haven't read anything from part one yet, but I wish to change that. 📖🎉I saw this as top story and I had to kick everything over to come celebrate with you. 📖🎉Those experts. I wish we could close our ears to them. But the fact is they do say things that hurt. 📖🎉A recipe. Stew for the brain. I like how you described it. 📖🎉😲 Condoms on fingers. Okay I am lingering here for now until my shock levels reduce. 📖🎉Stealing cars just to vibe to the soundtrack 🤣 📖A review. Oh well that looks good. It might very well be a delicious read. 📖Ancient reptiles grew larger 😲 🎉Am I pretty oh damn. And that image choice is eye catching. 🎉I probably have a little too much sense of humour. That piece looks like it would have a lot of value. 🎉The last one got me laughing. When I get back to this piece. That one might be the first I will read. Congratulations on your top story my lovely 🤗❤️🖤

  • GTA Vice City holds a special place in my life!!! I used to reach a very elevated plateau (lol) and go to another DIMENSION to the 80's music! Excellent series Sara👍
