Reactions as Karen Igho Reveals Homelessness and Divorce

Karen is crying out

By Jide OkonjoPublished about a year ago 3 min read

4 years ago, I did a story called What Actually Happened to Karen and Where She Is Now where I disclosed to you what had been happening to her since winning her season of Big Brother Africa in 2011. Shortly after winning, she starred in a number of movies including Blackberry Babes 2 and she also opened up about her battle with cancer in 2013. Then, in 2014, after going to the UK to undergo treatment for cancer, Karen was cancer free, and that same year, revealed that she was engaged.

Soon after, Karen got married to her husband, a man named Yaroslav Rakos and together, they relocated abroad where Karen also became a mother. Since then, it has been pretty quiet from Karen. The only time we really see her is when she does the occassional social media post showcasing her clothes, or generally living her life. No one could have guessed that in these silent moments, Karen had been having a hard time behind the scenes. Well now, she is opening up about what she's been going through in a number of tweets and social media posts. Here is what Karen had to say.

WHAT'S HAPPENING NOW

In a number of tweets sent out today, Karen revealed that she is homeless abroad and going through a divorce. Karen tweeted saying:

KAREN IGHO: God Almighty bless Nigeria and Africa my heart pray for your daughter of the soil, I have been through so much this past year, please African pray for my children and I In case you don't you hear from me again know that I have been killed, am not sick mentally and don't do drugs

I'm going through a divorce with my husband, I have been homeless for a year and I have been hurt sexually and physically so if anything happens ask or hold the man who brought me to a country where and I know no one, he is trying to take children away by saying I'm mentally sick

Since she put it out, the reactions have come flooding in. Nollywood actress Funke Akindele wrote to Karen saying "The Lord will touch you. Pls stay calm. Report to the right authorities." which is very sound advice. Others are also showing their support by calling her, and telling her to chat with them privately.

All in all, we hope for Karen's safety, and that whatever storm she is currently facing will pass soon.
