The lobby was busy with people coming and going. Straight ahead were three elevators. The one in the middle was starting to close as I darted towards it. I hurried inside so as not to miss my chance. There were a couple of people inside but not crowded. With a sigh of relief, I pressed the number 13 button and stood waiting with everyone else for the doors to close. Inches from it shutting, a black-gloved hand grabs one side of the elevator forcing it open.
I could feel the tension and irritation in the air as everyone stepped aside letting the tall dark figure enter what now seemed to be a very small, tight space. An eerie, palpable energy immediately crept up our spine as we waited for the elevator to climb to the next floor. He was 6'2 wearing a long black robe with a hood that dropped heavily over his head. He smelled of stale burnt ashes and old soot but what was most ominous about him was the hood protruding forward so deep that no one cold make out his face. Then again, no one wanted to. We were all conscious not to breathe in too deeply or to make a sound that would draw attention.
My floor was the highest number on the panel. Hoping his exit would be next, I held my breath. As each person exited one floor after another, my palms began to sweat. As discreetly as I could I glanced over to the right and up. The green light emanating off of the number 13 sent shivers through my entire body. He was getting off on the same floor.
With his head hung low in deathly silence, he continued to appear as if not to notice me. Not only did he notice me, but somehow I knew he was here for me.
My chest felt like a stampede of horses was running through it. Suddenly, with a quick reach for the panel, my thumb hit the button for the 11th floor. "Ding." The elevator came to a halt. A welcoming light came flooding through as the doors began to slide open. Stepping forward to pry it open faster, I squeezed my body between stainless steel and stumbled out into an open lobby. Immediately turning to see if he was behind me, my throat dropped into the pit of my stomach. For the first time, his head lifted. No face could be seen, only two burning embers starring into me as he stood motionless inside the elevator.
The closing doors cutting off his terrifying gaze gave me instantaneous relief. I exhaled all the air that had been waiting to be released. I looked around, not exactly sure what to do or how to feel. There wasn't any bustling like down on the first floor. It was quiet, calm and serene. I began to feel safe. Over to my left, an auburn hair, twenty-something-year-old is focused on her computer screen. Her hair is neatly tied up in a bun, her lightly framed glasses balanced perfectly on the bridge of her nose.
Walking over to the desk, I see her glance up and politely smile. Radiating from her aura was a sense of comfort that I nearly forgot existed. "Hi, you must be Tina, yes?"
"Ye...yes." The word fumbled from my mouth.
"Follow me."
She could see that I was a bit confused but trusting. I trailed behind her through a set of large oversized double doors made of a gorgeous white oak. On each door above the handle was engraved a circle with a dot in the center. As the doors were closing behind us, I felt very peaceful energy. Reaching the end of the corridor, we entered the last room to the left. I was led to a chair that was sitting directly in front of a white oak semi-circle table that looked to be carved out of one piece. In the center was the same symbol that was engraved on the entry doors.
The sound of quiet footsteps on the carpet behind me as the council entered the room put me on alert. Two older well-groomed men rounded the table and took a seat on either side. At that moment a tall, slender woman wearing a white loose flowing blouse tucked neatly into her trousers came into view.
"Nice seeing you again."
Her smile was wide, her eyes fierce and bright. She makes her way over to me with her hand out. It wasn't until she bent down to take my hand that I realized that this was the same woman I had met at the beginning of my travels.
"I knew you'd figure it out." She whispered as she gave my hand a gentle shake before seating herself between the two older gentlemen.
The gentleman to her left began the meeting... "My name is Malachi. I know you are wondering why you are here, why you had to find us. You've gone through quite a bit in getting here, however, this was all planned. A plan that you are very much aware of."
"I don't remember anything about a plan." A side smile slipped through Malachi's lips as he glanced slightly over at the other's. "Wasn't I supposed to go to the 13th floor?" I said looking pointedly at the woman, the head of the council. "The only reason I happen to get off on this floor..."
"Was because we told you too." Malachi's tone was calm and direct.
"I'm sorry...?"
"There was an ominous dark character on the elevator with you. We knew that he would be following you so you were given directions to go to the 13th floor instead."
Th elder on the right began to speak... "We communicate with you in several ways. The one most frequently used due to accessibility is the heart chakra. You commonly refer to this as intuition, however, depending on how open your chakra is, you may or may not hear us. In your case, you heard us loud and clear. When we told you to press the button, your heart began racing, your palms became sweaty. These were all a part of our message to get you off immediately. The moment you stopped trying and trusted yourself, you came into alignment with our message and pressed the button for the 11th floor."
It was as if he were there with me, in me.
"Why didn't he just get off the elevator when I did?"
"Every number holds a frequency. The number 11 frequency holds the energies of justice, fairness, enlightenment and higher ideals, to name a few. This particular floor would have rendered him powerless against us and therefore he would have been taken into custody and sentenced accordingly by the High Council. Knowing this, he had no choice but to let you walk free."
"Okay, so why didn't he just hold me on the elevator so I couldn't get off?"
Malachi continued... "In this building, the elevator is the neutral zone, therefore, he could not have held you there against your will."
"Who is he?"
"He is a very ancient being that has been working with the dark forces for many millennia. Once you would have gotten off on the 13th floor, he would have surrounded you with dark energy that would have made you forget about the light inside of you and in doing so, would have been able to use your gifts against your nature, against your purpose."
"And what purpose is that?"
"To assist in helping humanity wake up to the truth, the truth of who you all are."
"The truth of who we all are?"
"The truth that you are all Gods."
"Oooookaaay."
The gentleman to the left, seeing my shock at this pronouncement, moved on. "The awakening can not be stopped but it can be dramatically delayed. If these forces can stop you, then they will be able to postpone a new way of being. The being conscious that you are all Gods and that you are the answer to everything. The dark forces are running out of time. The evil that is hunting you Tina, knows this. Once you all understand who you are, the healing of the Earth can begin, the healing of each other, for in this a new consciousness will be born. As it stands the so-called powers that be are only powerful because you do not know that you are power."
"The strengths, talents, and abilities that you have acquired throughout this journey, have grown exponentially. This is due to your willingness and determination to succeed which is necessary for your road ahead."
"My road ahead?"
"Rest assure Tina that you will be victorious on your path. We are here to tell you that your destiny is one in which you will be planting and cementing the new template of love into the world, assisting everyone in the process of awakening to the purpose. Be brave. It will not be easy. These forces will be working night and day to make sure you fail."
"Their goal is to trap you in darkness, hoping you will turn to anger and revenge as an outlet for your power. Instead of creating a higher consciousness, you would create a lower one."
Suddenly the enormity of it all came crashing in as I sat in awe of what lay before me.
Malachi placed his hands on the table and clasped them together. The tone of his voice was low and serious but still warm. "I know you see yourself as good and wholeheartedly committed to the Source, and that you are, but never underestimate the darkness. Your enemy will have many disguises. However, there is no greater enemy than your own mind. Always, be aware of this. Keep your heart open and walk in unconditional love, for this is the way of staying in your light, your power."
The head of the council is not just looking at me, she's looking into me, into the places where my fears like to hide. There's no judgment coming from her but this sense that she knows more than she can say, more than I understand about myself.
"It's time to go back now." She said as she rose up from her chair. I have so many questions but I can't seem to find the words to adequately express them before exiting the room. I'm taken and led quietly down the hall. The head of the council lightly puts her hand on my arm. "Tina, remember always that you are not alone. You are never alone." A warm reassuring smile lights up her eyes as her face slowly disappears behind the wooden oak doors.
I exhale, letting the entirety of this experience settle in. Turning around to find the elevator, my vision is blurred. I rub my eyes to get a better look. I hear people talking and laughing.
"It's the 4th of July and you're sleeping?" My brother Tim's voice booming over me as I lay on the couch half awake. "What's up sis? You alright?"
"Tim?" I sit up and put my hand to my head to recover from... being there and now here.
"You sure you're okay?"
"Yeah, no, I'm fine. I'm good, a bit disoriented but good." As I pass him a quick smile to reassure him. He gave a small chuckle, "I love you sis." He grabs his soda and heads to the backyard. I sit quietly on the sofa readjusting, observing and watching everyone. It all seems so surreal, the music, the laughter, the joyful sounds of life. It's good to be back, to be home.
