pain...

pain is a confusing thing

By brooklyn birdPublished 5 years ago 3 min read

Pain comes in many forms. For example, there could be two siblings that just witnessed the death of their mother but those two siblings will not feel the same pain, they will both feel pain but not in the same form. Many people don't understand the effects of pain.

as one could feel more or less pain, they also might feel as if they feel the same but in reality pain is as relatable as our finger print. Our pain is unique just like our fingerprint, no pain is identical. Let's say you have two people, one person who has been in pain and has scars and another person who has been in pain but has no scars, now hand both of them a razor blade and tell them to cut themselves. person number 2 is going to feel more pain then person number 1 because person number 1 is numb to that unlike person number 2. The two people were inflicting the same pain on themselves but one felt more.

We experience more pain every day. We don't really understand why this pain grows over time but it does. people heal from internal pain at different paces. it is not easy to put everything behind you. Your pain from other things always follows you. it's like they form a tail, and this tail follows you everywhere. the tail is connected to you, so sometimes you have to just cut it off. cutting it off will allow you to let go of the hurt, it also allows you to start over. the tail will regrow over time and when you get tired of it then you repeat the process. That may seem difficult to most people but sometimes we have to just let go for a while. Although it may be hard, we have to push ourselves to overcome our obstacles.

our feelings come to us all discombobulated and scattered which makes it challenging to find out what is actually wrong. It is like the feeling of just wanting to give up on life or harm ourselves. We began cutting, scratching the skin off our arm, turning the shower all the way hot, or even not checking both ways before crossing the road. Self harm comes in many forms but people tell us to get over it or stop seeking attention, but nobody understands your reasons for why you perform self mutilation to your body. but many of us do this to feel something because that giant storm of pain makes the body feel numb and makes pain feel irrelevant. so the harm we perform upon ourselves is to give us hope that we will feel again. This feeling is different for every human being experiencing pain or hurt in any way.

Pain is caused by so many things. Some things that may cause pain don't feel so painful. Even though that may not make sense, it has a stronger meaning behind what is said. This is saying that we may not believe it can cause us so much pain but over time it does. it begins to bring us more and more pain in many different ways. It can sometimes cause us to feel gone or like we are not feeling correctly, but we will begin to feel in place again no matter how much time it takes. The feeling will come at its own time and we can't speed up the process no matter how hard we try, but we also can't cut off the process. many of us try to end the process by commiting suicide but doing so can cause much pain to others. we get rid of our pain but we bring more pain to other people and it may cause them to follow in our footsteps causing it to be a never ending cycle of pain.

The main reason for writing this was not to win or even try to win... it was to show people that we all struggle with pain and that no matter what we don't deserve to give up, even if we feel like we can't do it we can. Never try to tell someone that you went through the same thing and they need to get over it because we will never experience the same exact pain as anyone else. always respect the time it takes for others to heal.
