I guess this is a broad statement and is going to be debatable whether or not my perception is right. Love is an abstract thing and it can only be felt by anyone. It is like air that exists but devoid of being seen except that it can only be felt. I have long reflected about life and there’s a lot of insights that’s coming through me about my own experience. I’m going to talk about this from spiritual standpoint and this can be rather subjective and not a collective truth. I may tend to sound philosophical at most trying to explain this principle.
Whether we realize or not, love plays a very important role in our lives. It is the very nature of us being human. It is always displayed in many different ways and sometimes caught us unaware of what it really is. It always takes time to realize the real nature of everything because of the smokescreens and other realities that are being pushed to us and take that belief away so we remain ignorant to the truth. It is almost as if I’m trying to define what love is but essentially this is who we are. We are an expression of love and such love is what we expressed.
But why do I still need to discuss anything about this. It is self explanatory. It is love. Love is just is, everybody knows what it is. And to discuss anything about it is just plain boring attempt to what is already obvious. There is love between two couple, a love between a mother and child, a love for a country, love between animals etc. There are so many forms of love and you can never be lost. But what struck me the most is why am I so passionate to acknowledge that love is all we have and it’s only the reasons why we are here and why we still survive.
If you look around, the stuff that you see and feel are there because it has a purpose. A purpose that is beneficial to you and me and to other people. But we don’t see this as an expression of love because we tend to confine love to a certain degree, something special or that affect our emotions or even romanticize it. Love is the consciousness that pervades our daily life. If I will show you a chair right now, you may say that chair is used to sit on, it is functional. But what is the purpose behind it? Whoever created that piece of wood and turn it into a chair thought clearly that in order for anyone not to suffer from standing long, a chair is created to solve that problem. With this, can we all agree this is an expression of love?
Having said that, you can now associate that anything that you see around you are created the same way as true to its purpose. Love is the main ingredient as to why something is created whether it’s a machine, a toothbrush, a dress, a coin, a building, a car etc. were all created for that reason alone, love. Of course there are also stuff created by man to destroy. And sometimes it can be quite complex because for instance, Hitler had killed millions of people because of his love for his own country. Can we call that love at all? You see love is envisioned differently by anyone and can be rather a twisted idea. Nevertheless, it is what animates us or drives us to exist. Sometimes we are unaware and some are quite awakened of what it was.
Intuitively, I know in my perspective, love is the purpose of life. Life itself is love, and God himself is love. It can be equated as similar. It is the reason why we do what we do. The goals we set for ourselves are all expressions of love. We want a good future for ourselves and our children because we love ourselves and our children. That is it! You may think you are doing something for a different purpose but eventually it only boils to one thing, and that is love.
What is it that we seek? If you are going to reflect upon yourself, it is not our main objective to get that money that we save or earn, or that house that we want to buy or that job that we wanna do or that place we wanna go, if we look at it deeply, we merely wanna experience love. That is our true purpose. But now we may ask what is the purpose of life? The answer is one that may shock you, there is none. There is no purpose in life except the purpose you wanna give it. There is no guarantee in life or final product or final destination. Life is raw and it is up to you how you wanna take it. But whatever it is, whatever you do to your life, there is only one reason behind it and that is love. If you say your purpose is to become a doctor because you wanna cure sick people, it is because you wanna help these people but if you wanna be a doctor because you think it pays great salary, you can still call it love, perhaps a love for money or love for oneself but it is devoid of a deeper understanding of love.
Only love is real. I first encountered this sentence when I read Marianne Williamson’s book of ‘A Course In Miracles’. God, that book is mesmerizing. It is almost like I become enlightened when I read it. A lot realizations and discernment came through me and how much I do not know in this life. When you admit to yourself that you do not know everything, more wisdom is bestowed on you by the great consciousness. This where I realized only love is the only genuine thing we experience and will leave as legacy in this world. It revolves around it. It is love that propels us to do something great and every instance of our life is associated with it. It is the only thing that matters and the only thing that we are after. This is one thing people don’t realize but my intuition helps me to discover something of value to me. Life is a journey of the heart, if you look deeply what the word ‘heart’ is. It can be equated to ‘earth’, it may sound silly but this is one thing I realized what is hidden in that word ‘earth’. and that is the principle I live my life with. That everything I think, do and say must be aligned with the purpose of my existence which is simply to love in many different forms, not exactly confined only to romantic love but love in general, or you can exhaust it if you want it to.
