Omowunmi Dada Finally Opens Up About Engagement

Omowunmi Dada is ENGAGED! As somebody who is actively entrenched in the Nigerian entertainment industry, this is not coming as a shock to me. Omowunmi Dada has actually been engaged for some time now. However, today is the day Omowunmi Dada finally decided to publicly announce the news officially on her social media.

Below, I will show you the engagement post, and what she said about it. I will also gist you about how last month, Omowunmi Dada was called out on national TV about her engagement, and was almost forced to reveal it on live TV when at the time it had not yet been announced. Spoiler Alert: it got very awkward for her. Without any further ado, let's jump into both stories.

Today, Omowunmi Dada finally announced on her social media that she is officially engaged. She posted this picture above, with the caption:

See what I UNBOXED 💍

Reacting to the post, a number of her colleagues came in to congratulate her on the announcement. Everybody from Ini Dima-Okojie to Kemi Adetiba, Adesua Etomi, Beverly Osu and more all congratulated her.

Adunni Ade said: "Finally cat out the bag! Oya let’s celebrate" and friend and fellow actress Bimbo Ademoye also said: "It's doing me to say I've known siiiinncceeee. 😂😂. Well there you have it guys. She told me siinnceee. Do your worxt 😂😂😂 . Congratulations boo."

It is true. Omowunmi has been engaged SINCEEEE. Which brings me to the second part of today's story: How Omowunmi Dada was almost forced to announce her engagement on national television just about a month ago. Spoiler alert: It got very awkward for her.

What Happened on Live TV

Things got slightly awkward on November 24, 2022 when Omowunmi Dada appeared on TVC's 'Your View'. At one point when Omowunmi Dada was in the middle of answering a question she was asked, one of the Your View hosts, Yeni Kuti said to Omowunmi point-blank: "Is this an engagement ring?"

Immediately, Omowunmi Dada started screaming and laughing, trying to I believe deflect from the question. But the spotlight was on her. The hosts kept asking "You haven't announced it officially?", "What is your engagement story, let us hear?", "Are you engaged, yes or no?", "Tell us your engagement story". Eventually, Omowunmi Dada responded shyly:

I don't like to talk about my personal life

Well, now the cat is finally out of the bag. Omowunmi Dada's ring she was was wearing on the show is in fact an engagement ring. We are all very happy for her. Big congratulations to you Omowunmi Dada and we wish you a very happy and prosperous married life.
