As far as New Years celebrations go I would have to say that it is so much more enjoyable now as and adult than it ever was as a kid. That being said, I do not wasnt to take away from the bonding childhood memories with my cousins crammed into one house running a joyous muck while our parents socialized and drank with one another while taking tuurns singing Karaoke to Chente and Juanga's all time greatest hits. whether it be with my mothers side of the family or my fathers side that day was for letting go of all the the moments go and bad that the year had brought us and welcoming the wonders the new year would bring us. Those were good times and make for great memories but it pales in comparison to the New Years Eve adventures in my adulthood my wild at heart nature leans toward the New Years Eve debauchery that only Vegas can bring me.

This year we are leaning toward something different in terms of not just gambling and drinking which is all well and good however this year we are inclined to step out of our norm. I am going to incorporate my first bit of two sense. I cannot stress enough the importance of traveling with people whose common interest are similar to yours. However your ideal Vegas experience looks like Make sure you are there with those who are likeminded. This allows for less head butting when it comes to planning adventures. Personally, there's nothing I like more than walking, gambling, drinking, and exploring while I am in Las Vegas. It has taken my partner and I a few years to develop a "slot strategy" that works best of us at least. We visit Vegas multiple times a year and each time we do we choose a new place to eat that neither one of us has never been to before. My daily life is composed of a low carb lifestyle, but in Vegas all bets are off and we go wild. Nothing in excess of course because we would not make it out of the bathroom. He and I will order and share all our food which saves us digestively and works out perfectly for our needs.

This year we will be driving out there and leaving LA very early. He and I are big preppers. we buy snacks and drinks before we even leave for Sin City. Living that low carb life like he and I do, we stock up the Michelob Ultras. In LA I have not found anything cheaper than Walmart for the 24 pack of Ultras which falls a few bucks short of twenty dollars! Once we grab our beers we just grab a couple of snacks to minimize our food spending and or course water which is practically on the top of the list in terms of necessary items. One of the things I cannot stress enough is that a majority of the hotels in Vegas are doing away with their mini fridge, which in my opinion is a HUGE disappointment. That along with the stocked and weighted fridges which are an equal disappointment. This dilemma is easily remedied with a cooler or simply filling up trash cans with ice (after you have emptied and cleaned them of course.) About a year ago my partner made the purchase of all time on Amazon. A backpack cooler that has been a god send since the first time we used it. It is by SEEHONOR and holds at least a 24 pack of beer with plenty of room for more (if you are up for carrying more than just a 24 pack.) it also has compartments for storage such as wallet items and snack or water bottles to rehydrate. We love this cooler so much that I recently purchased one of my very own and both will be coming with us on this upcoming New Years trip. I cannot speak on the awesome features of this product and how happy we have been since getting it. The major perk for us is that Las Vegas is you can carry your alcohol out in the street as long as it is in a can or cup since glass is not at all permitted. As I have mentioned in another article, since the quarantine the constant presence of the my favorite cocktail server has greatly diminished much to my dismay. Now though with our handy dandy trusty cooler, we just reach in the cooler and grab our beverage with absolutely zero wait time and now when the servers are able to make their way to where we are gambling we tend to grab a whiskey shot. Last year while slot playing at Caesars, this blessing of a server brought us a double shot of bourbon and explained it was so huge because she was unsure of when she would get to be back in our section. I love that so much we tipped her double because she didn't have to do that and the fact that she went out of her way to not only inform us but double our drink was such a nice thing to do.

On this trip we are upping our game to include a mini trip to the Hoover Dam which will be a first for both of us, as well as the Lost Spirits attraction at Area 15 which as a whiskey enthusiast I am very excited about. There are a few new things at Container Park in the Downtown area so we will definitely be checking that out too. It will not be a total trip of new experiences, we are also partaking in our favorites and are open to anything new that may catch our eye.

The past year has brought on an abundance of new changes and challenges on a whole different level from the year of quarantine. Returning to work after the safety and comfort of doing it remotely and from home was a shock to my system. There was a lot of anxiety and nerves regarding the unknown of in person working again. Coupled with my children returning to in person learning as well was another challenge to get used to once again. Unlike others I was happy in my bubble with my children and the gift of being able to spend that time together was absolutely priceless and something I may never see again in my life. Fortunately I am starting to see light in the tunnel again and I am very excited about the new year and the positive and wonderful things and moments it will bring. I am truly blessed with amazing family and friends that I could not see my life without.

With that I am ready to embrace 2022 and I am excited to be spending it with my partner in crime. If I could impart any bit of advice or wisdom on anyone's next trip out to Sin City I would say definitely sign up for players cards and start collecting those points because everything adds up and you will definitely see perks. Ninety percent of our stays are comped and the only thing we pay for are the resort fees. Even parking fees which are beginning to make a come back after COVID are not an issue for us whenever we stay at the MGM Resorts. I want to wish everyone a prosperous and Happy New Year!
