What fulfills oneself? This has so many meanings to everyone. For some, it is simply to make money. For others, it is to have a family. For myself, it is through helping others feel good about themselves. As a cosmetologist, seeing my client's reactions to their new look thrills me beyond words. My favorite is when they just can't stop looking in the mirror with a smile on their face. Constantly touching their hair or swishing it back and forth. Like many others, I have an equivalent to that for myself. For me, it is through FX makeup looks. Turning my own face into a creature from the beyond, or a movie, anime, imagination, etc. Transforming myself, makes me smile (or growl) into the mirror. As I am not one to take pictures of myself, even I find it easy to do so after a makeup look or challenge. Branching into prosthetics takes it that much further. As I see myself transform into another being entirely.
I enjoy the comments I get after I complete a makeup look. From eek to awe, and everything in between. I find it even better when I get the opportunity to be challenged with a look. The challenger sends me a picture and I get to create my version of it, then I post both images for all to see. Tagging the challenger so they get to see its completion. Life tends to have other plans for me, at times. Currently, I have 2 challenges that have been on the side burner due to finances and health. If I had enough money to work only one job, then I could get back to complete them. Making myself and others happy with those looks.
With that said, my “member’s only” would be making custom masks and doing FX makeup challenges. Making my members-only page all about interaction, for those that wish to interact. In a perfect world, as a subscriber, you would have access to my weekly makeup videos. As well as discount prices on custom masks. I would have some premade masks, some ideas for my members to choose from, or I could create one from their imagination. I could travel to their hometown and make a mold of their faces. Building their mask specifically for them, painting them, and creating them directly from their imagination or from preconceived images. In a perfect world, I would have enough funds to cover Copywrite looks, to be able to pull from any and every movie, cartoon, etc.
Having a tiered members-only system would be ideal. Giving those with varying finances their choice on which level they can subscribe to. I would have the first or low tier free and it would have access to just the makeup videos. Second-tier would give them access to send a makeup challenge, and tutorials on makeup looks as well as making masks. The third tier would have discounts on premade masks and access to prior tiers content. The fourth tier would have discounts on custom masks, as well as prior tiers content. And the final tier would have me travel to your hometown, film the trip, and the creation of your custom mask, creating a face mold and designing it with in-person adjustments/requests, including wigs if necessary. Allowing the member to be featured on my site, as well as all the prior tiers content.
Doing this would fulfill my dreams of travel as well as helping others love their looks. Through creation, art, and travel. I do believe I could finally be truly happy. In a perfect world, the money or supplies to create all of this would be gifted to me. Everything from the cameras, lighting, extra makeup, latex and latex-free materials for the masks, face mold kits, wigs, sculpting clay and tools, mask paint, Vaseline, gloves, fake blood, colored contacts, mesh lining, etc. In a perfect world, this would be my “job”. As this is my dream job, I cannot say it could ever feel like a job. Living my life to help others love even a piece of themselves would fulfill my life completely.
