Miz Vick and Basketmouth Respond to Husband Snatching Allegations

"Even if na true?"

By Jide OkonjoPublished about a year ago 3 min read

A couple of weeks ago, Nigerian comedian Basketmouth and TV host Miz Vick got the internet talking when Basketmouth posted a video of them together in an intimate embracing saying "About to step into the next chapter of my life." As one can imagine, the post got a lot of attention and people took it to mean that the two were confirming a relationship. Of course, the announcement also carried along with it some controversy since Basketmouth just recently also announced his separation from his ex-wife, and as a result of that, people were quick to start claiming that Miz Vick was a husband snatcher. Now, during a new interview with Pulse Nigeria, the pair are talking about the whole thing and opening up about how they reacted to all the negative comments they received after posting the video. Here's what they said.

During a game with Pulse Fun Facts, Basketmouth and Miz Vick were asked "what was the meanest comment you saw about yourself when you teased your project?" to which they said:

MZ VICK: I don't know, husband snatcher? Is that mean? I don't know. I mean, I feel like we laughed all day. We had a good laugh.

BASKETMOUTH: For all the people that commented, let me tell you what was happening behind the scenes. So, we knew what was going to happen when we posted it and you guys were really tearing your head off your necks. We were just laughing all through. So, when my friends started congratulating me, I was the one that called them to tell them to go and congratulate me so it would look authentic. So we actually were just having fun. We were actually really looking for those insults, but you guys didn't do it right. I been expect more.

MIZ VICK: I don't think there was any reaction that really surprised. It was well thought out, but we didn't even make it look that real. And we were expecting more. The best you could do was husband snatcher, come on! Go low. Go lower! And you know what? Even if na true, and they come insult us online, it won't change anything. Just sit back, relax, and enjoy the show.

What do you think about the stunt they pulled, and about what they're saying now?
