We understand that you have a book that is geared for the LGBTQ community, please tell us about it?

My book Claudette-Heart of Atlanta is a story about a thirteen-year-old girl who is disowned by her mother and kicked to the streets of Atlanta for being gay. An O.G. takes her under his wing and tries to be a father figure, but after falling into a decadent lifestyle Claudette discovers the first blush of love with a female and a cruel betrayal causes an imminent downward spiral. After being raped at gunpoint and losing her brother to her own spill of blood, Claudette finds herself in a precarious situation while searching for solace.

Will she find refuge in the siren’s song of sex, money, and love? Will her mother ever embrace her, or will Claudette’s hand be forced to do the unthinkable?

How has your journey been so far as an author?

Preston Dent: My journey as an author has been great I can’t complain, I love to write stories and also I love to see people enjoying my visions that’s a pleasurable feeling itself. The Author world is more peaceful, relaxed, you don’t deal with everything you endure and have to face as a musician.

Any other books currently in the works?

Preston Dent: Yes, I have a book called Harrisburg that’s 80 percent done, and I just finished my first fantasy book. It’s like an avatar, Harry Potter type book, the kids are going to love it!

What other projects or endeavors are you currently involved in?

Preston Dent: I just launched a hair care product line called Zuri Grow after my daughter Zuri. It's an all-natural shampoo and conditioner.

I also partnered up with other activists in my community and we are holding our first annual youth talent show. I’m doing a Harrisburg vs Lancaster stop the cyberbullying basketball game. I already did a Harrisburg vs York stop the violence basketball game and a Know Your Status AIDS awareness campaign for my book David. I’ve been on the news to discuss human trafficking for my book Katya Rise Of a Sex Slave.
