Love in Reverse: The Man Who Forgot Me Every Day
What if the love of your life woke up every morning with no memory of you?

Chapter 1: The Stranger Across the Table
Elena stirred her coffee absentmindedly, watching the steam swirl into nothingness. Across the table, Daniel sat with his hands folded, staring at her like a polite stranger—because that’s what she had become to him.
“You really don’t remember me?” she asked, her voice barely above a whisper.
Daniel hesitated. “I... I feel like I should.”
His gaze flickered with frustration as if he were trying to grasp at something just out of reach.
Elena bit her lip to keep it from trembling. “That’s okay,” she forced a smile. “We can start again.”
The words felt foreign on her tongue. Start again? How do you rebuild something when only one person remembers the foundation?
Chapter 2: A Love Forgotten
Three weeks ago, Daniel had been in a car accident. He survived with only a mild concussion and a few bruises. But the real damage was inside his mind. Retrograde amnesia, the doctors called it—he had lost memories of the past five years.
Those five years were everything to Elena. They were the stolen kisses at dawn, the shared dreams whispered under city lights, the quiet moments that made life feel like poetry.
Now, she was just a face to him.
Their apartment, once filled with their laughter, felt foreign to him. His books still lined the shelves, his clothes still hung in the closet, and yet, he moved through the space like a visitor in someone else’s life.
One night, Elena found him sitting on the couch, flipping through a photo album.
“This is us,” he murmured. His finger traced the edge of a picture—one from their first trip together, hiking in the mountains.
Elena’s heart clenched. “Yeah,” she whispered.
Daniel sighed, rubbing his temples. “I want to remember, Elena. I do. But it’s like trying to read a book where half the pages are missing.”
She swallowed the lump in her throat. “Then let’s rewrite those pages together.”
Chapter 3: The Clocks Reset
Determined, Elena set out to make Daniel fall in love with her again.
She took him to their favorite bookstore, where they had spent hours lost in pages and words. But this time, he only browsed in polite curiosity.
She brought him to the café where they had their first date. He sipped his coffee, smiled at her kindly, but there was no spark of recognition.
One evening, she left him a sticky note:
Meet me at the rooftop at 8 PM.
This was their special place. Where they first said I love you, where they watched city lights flicker like stars.
She waited, heart pounding. But 8 PM passed. Then 9.
Daniel never came.
Chapter 4: Slipping Away
The next morning, Elena sat alone in the kitchen, stirring her tea as if it could dissolve the ache in her chest.
Maybe love wasn’t enough.
Maybe what they had was truly gone.
Then her phone buzzed. A message from Daniel.
“Meet me at the café. 10 AM.”
She rushed there, heart racing. When she arrived, he was already at their table, a small journal in his hands.
“I found this in my apartment,” he said, flipping through the pages. “It’s filled with stories about us. Places we went. Things we said. It’s… it’s beautiful.”
Elena’s breath caught. She had given him that journal on their second anniversary.
“I read every word,” he continued. “And last night, I had a dream. About you.”
Her heart pounded. “What did you see?”
He smiled softly. “I saw myself falling in love with you.”
Elena’s eyes burned with tears.
Daniel reached across the table, taking her hand in his. “I don’t remember everything yet… but maybe that’s okay. Maybe we can start over.”
She let out a small, shaky laugh, squeezing his hand.
“Hi,” she said. “I’m Elena.”
Daniel chuckled, his eyes shining. “Hi, Elena. I’m Daniel.”
And just like that, love began again.
