Look into my Eyes

What do you see?

I wonder what you see when you look into my eyes.

Do you see the brown flecked with the golden rays of sun, ready to greet you with a smile? Do they wrap you up and keep you warm? Do you see the way they try to envelope you and keep you forever? Or the way they try to hold you close? Can you see the love they have for you try to seep through like sun-rays coming through the cracks of the curtain? When the breeze is warm and tickles your soul, do you try to catch a glimpse of mine through the wonderous haze of gold? I wonder if you do. I wonder if you can see it all.

When the sky is dark, and the stars are glittering, do my eyes show you what they see? Does the wonder I'm feeling convey itself to you? Do they flicker and shine a billion times? Are they other-worldly? Are the tiny specks of light infectious to you? Do you think that the universe is even more beautiful shining in my eyes? I hope you do. If fireworks were to light up the sky alongside the stars, would you glance into my eyes anyway? Would you watch them through my eyes?

Do you see the dark clouds and strikes of lightning when the cracks of the thunder fail to escape? When my hurt turns into silent rage, do you see through the browns of the warm soil and into the whipping winds of a hurricane? I'm in the eye of the storm, stuck in the wild winds. Do you try to find me in the middle? I need you to try. I need you to understand. Do you see? Do you know? Do you understand?

The rain taps at the window, my eyes following each drop carefully. Do you follow them too? Do you look over and see the streaks on the window in the darks of my pupils? Can you see how they cling on to something more? Something far away? Something deep within, past the sunny brown? Do you try to wade through the water? I wonder if you do. Do you understand that there is more behind the pupils of golden sun? I hope you understand. I need you to understand.

Snow falls all around and my eyes water from the cold. If you look closely, you can see nothing at all. Empty pools of frost covered gold staring into the distance. The brown is dull and buried beneath white and if you look closely, the fire I'm trying to light never seems to spark at all. It's isolating. Do you see it? Do you understand it? I hope you don't. I don't want this for you. I hope you never feel the numbing snow biting away at you.

When the sun is setting, and the sky is painted warm, can you see how my eyes glow golden for you? They drip with honey, sweet and sticky, waiting for you. Only for you. They want you; you know? The desire they hold for you is overflowing. They're desperate for you. The sticky sweetness of it all drips onto your skin, searing. Through the honey, they hold your own pair of worlds. Eyes to eyes. Lips to lips. Do you see it too? Do you feel it too?

Can you tell me you see more? Can you show me? Let me look into your eyes. Windows to your soul, your love, your desire. Let me see it all. Let me feel it all. And in return, I'll let you through my worlds. My eyes. I wonder what you see when you look into them.

I wonder what you see when you look into my eyes.
