In today's era ,if anybody talks about "feminism" people saw them in a very negative way . We need to understand the true meaning of feminism , it doesn't mean anti-men .People misinterpreted the concept of feminism . It is very liberated idea it is just demands for a equitable society in which every citizen, irrespective of their gender peacefully . people think is as an alien or western to our culture but in reality it is universal . It is just a myth that inequality doesn't exist . But the question is that why we need to put forward a community . Well if we study the history of India we get the answer.

There are many legends in ancient India who put forward these issues one of them was RAJA RAM MOHAN ROY who was also revolutionary. There are many practices in history which were totally against of women rights .He was only one who campaign to -polygamy, child marriage , dowry system .which was projected till today and also children marriage in which the age gap between men and women is nearly double . he pushed girls for educational rights ,property rights for women and remarriage of widows. But he was best known for ending the practice 'SATI'. Sati was a cruel practice of ancient India in which a widow forced to burnt with the dead body of her husband .He addresses this issue first time when his elder brother JAGMOHAN died because of an illness. His was shocked at watching her sister-in-law ALAKHMANJARI who was just 17 year old at that time . He was the only one who protest against this harsh practice . She was forced to commit SATI because of pressure from in-laws and society because they consider her impure and it was against to their dignity to let her live and then she got burned alive after this whole incident he had decided that he would not rest until he gets sati banned . Majority of the society was against to him .He wrote an article depicted the debate between two imaginary individuals on sati in which he proved that our scripture are also against sati. people were shocked to read that how could anyone proved their theories were totally wrong .He was opposed by many critics but didn't give up his goal . Whenever he heard a news of somebody's death he make sure that their women couldn't commit sati or burned along with their husband and plays a major role in welfare of women .he was also an activist . He was a person who belief that the god is only one and breaks the all mythology about the works which were prohibited for the women by a logical arguments he was a great sociologist who was remembered for hundreds of years . He was given the title of RAJA Ram Mohan Roy by AKBAR - Mughal emperor .and the moment was called 'Brahmo moment' to end sati. He was founder of BRAHM SAMAJ and also an Indian freedom fighter. He was also an advocate of women education . He was supported by ISHWAR CHAND VIDYA SAGAR and DAYANAND SARASWATI . Vidya sagar started a movement in favour of remarriage and was instrumental in passing of the widow remarriage act in 1856. According to Dayanand Saraswati the Vedas contained the essense of life and knowledge he quoted the Hindu scriptures to support his stand on various issues . He preaches against caste differences and untouchability.

Nowadays all the women are not following these practices because of him and people let live their own life only because of him . But there are still some differences.
