A flash of light splits between two panes. The refraction bouncing off the glass and gleaming into the room. The sun pours in on a bright spring day.

"It's summer already?" She said glumly from a sunken couch.

"Yea, the light is high in the sky, and it's high time for Gemini." I declared.

The season has started with a splash of light. A color refracted into many beams. The gemini mood splits at the seams. Only this sign can call itself the one of many faces. The filler of rooms, and the cool cucumber. The paste on the canvas, ready for adherence, and the bouncy ball sending sounds of vases crashing as it bounds for the open front door.

A door open, the gemini has it's character out front on the porch. The ball bounces down the street, and yet here we are, sitting on the sunken couch in this lovely spring light.

"Are we going to do this all night?" She asked with a remorseful groan.

"I mean, do you have any ideas of a fun way to spend the evening?" I remarked.

Some may see the bouncing ball and open front door and say, "Oh yea, gemini, that's it they're flying right by."

Yet, here we are, the two of us in this room, no lights except for the ever glaring sunshine and the beaming indecision that lay between us.

"You know, we aren't one, but two" She said confidently.

"How do you mean? Is that even possible? Did you graduate elementary math?" I asked.

"Ermm...yes" --- "I mean that it's you and I, in this together. We are Gemini." She clarified.

"Right. Thanks for the reminder. Sometimes I get so...out of my own body. It feels as though I'm floating towards the sky or something." I trailed off at the end of that statement.

"Keep yourself grounded here, this is going to be a long season for us. After all of that time reflecting, I thought we had this down!" Her voice reverberating across the room and into my ears.

She was right, we need to keep ourselves together and stay in tune with what matters most.-- This decision making. How do we spend our evening? Such a peculiar thing, making decisions on such a dull evening.

Or is it so dull? My mind races to another corner of the premises. I remember that old book about Astrology we have in the dusty bookshelf across the room.

"Hey! Toss me that book, so we can learn more about ourselves." I shouted.

"Sure thing." She reached over without getting off the couch and wrenched her arm around to the bookshelf. With one hand, and one motion, the book became a hockey puck, sliding across the floor to my feet.

"Gee...thanks." With that I used one foot to pry it open and the other to keep the book down on the floor. She came over to sit with me and glared closely at the worn pages.

"Gemini...gemini...Oh! Here it is!" She turned the page and saw the twin symbol appear above the typewriter text.

"It says, Twins, star-crossed lovers, those who carry many sides and adapt to all situations. That's us!" She exclaimed while quickly turning to me for affirmation.

Of course, reading on, we learned much more about how the air spirit of Gemini is a bombastic one. We love to split ourselves up inside, considering past, present and future all at once. Did the dishes get put away? Will the book have all the answers? Do we have a fun night ahead?

These questions spun as the page glared us in the face. "Okay, focus." I thought.

"It says - All gemini are different, yet they share in these few qualities: Clairvoyance, an ability to intuitively read someone's emotions and mental state, Luminescence - the presence of a light shining in a room, beaming their glory into a social situation to brighten things up, and finally Transformation - the understanding of time passing and what it means to evolve constantly."

"Wooooah..." I said aloud, thinking it had been only in my mind.

"This...is too cool!" She said with a glint of excitement. "I feel like all of these are so on point, man. We are Gemini, we need to understand that our emotions are running low right now and liven up the place!" She stated with fervor. "Come on, lets transform the room!"

At once, we shut the book, and got up in a flurry. We held hands and begun to spin around, pulling on each other to keep a center of gravity. After a few spins, we became close to each other and embraced in a long hug.

"We both needed that, eh?" I said. "Yea, real bad." She affirmed.

"Well, let's get to it! You make sure the dishes get put away, I'll dust the books, and straighten up the couch cushions."

"Got it! I'll put on some Bob Marley for good vibes too!" She said.

"Yay, okay! I'm loving this start to gemini season. We have to remind ourselves of this power daily! We can understand each other deeply, brighten up the room, and make a change!" I said with glee.

"Yea, The gem is truly in I." She said.

I responded "Ha ha, okay pun-master, very good." and that night turned into a wonderful springboard for the summer solstice season of twin light. We are realizing our true power is not one, but two.
