Ibrahim Traoré: How Can His Successes in Burkina Faso be Measured?
Ibrahim Traoré Optimum Achievement Within First 2 Years

Burkina Faso is a 20 million population densed sovereignty of which a very high percentage of the citizens are poor people who are busy trying to feed themselves. In recent years, Islamists have raised their heads there by creating a national conflict that further deepens the plight of the people, and in the fight against them, special forces arose to the occasion from which Captain Ibrahim Traore distinguished himself and emerged with his sterling qualities of a patriot leader. At some point, he realized that he would be the best person to manage the country, so he seized power in 2022.

From 2022 until this point of writing this piece, Captain Ibrahim Tráore has marked himself out as one of Africa's greatest and patriotic leaders.
This piece is simple in creation: it will not dive deeply into ground analysis of the character or subject of the topic; rather, in a surmised serial representation, I shall outline his sterling quality and achievement from 2022 until 2024. And here are the results of his two years of rule between 2022 and 2024.
In Ibrahima Traore’s two years in office 🇧🇫

1. Burkina Faso's Gross Domestic Product (GDP) experienced remarkable growth within his first two years in office, increasing from $18.8 billion to $22.1 billion.
2. He rejected loans from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank and other international financial institutions or Western countries. He expressed his thoughts on the decision by stating: "Africa does not require the World Bank, the IMF, Europe, or America."
3. He reduced the salaries of ministers and parliament members by 30% while boosting civil servants' salaries by 50%.
4. He settled Burkina Faso's local debts that had built up over the years due to previous unjust leadership.

5. He opened two tomato processing plants, the first in the history of Burkina Faso.
6. He opened a modern gold mine in 2023 to expand local processing capacity, thereby creating and meaningfully engaging the people of Burkina Faso.
7. He stopped exporting unrefined gold from Burkina Faso to Europe. An exploitative act of neocolonialist governments.
8. He established the second cotton processing facility in Burkina Faso, which is currently active and sustainable for a great portion of the country's economic life.
9. He opened the first-ever National Center for the Support of Artisanal Cotton Processing to assist local cotton farmers.
10. He banned the wearing of British legal wigs and robes in local courts and introduced traditional Burkina Faso dress.
11. He placed a strong emphasis on agriculture by providing more than 400 tractors, 239 cultivators, 710 motor pumps, and 714 motorcycles to enhance production and assist rural communities. By the way, there is a lot of new Belarusian equipment there – the country has direct contracts with Belarus.
12. He facilitated access to enhanced seeds and various agricultural inputs to optimize agricultural output.
13. Tomato production in Burkina Faso increased from 315,000 metric tons in 2022 to 360,000 metric tons in 2024.
14. The production of millet rose from 907,000 metric tons in 2022 to 1.1 million metric tons by 2024.
15. The production of rice grew from 280,000 metric tons in 2022 to 326,000 metric tons in 2024.
16. He banned the French military from any activity in Burkina Faso.
17. He banned French media in Burkina Faso.
18. He expelled French troops from Burkina Faso.
19. His government is building new roads, widening existing ones, and upgrading gravel roads to asphalt.
20. He is building a new Ouagadougou-Doncin airport, which is expected to be completed in 2025.
Among the Captain's major achievements is his tough fight against corruption. I wouldn't say that the successes in terms of the economy are colossal, but they are noticeable, and for Africa this is very Ibrahim Traoré once said that he would be at the helm of the country for exactly 5 years until he restores order, and then he will give up power in the elections. He is now 36 years old.

This article about Captain Ibrahim Traore's rule in Burkina Faso is quite interesting. The economic growth is impressive, going from $18.8 billion to $22.1 billion in just two years. But his decision to reject loans from international institutions is bold. I wonder what the long - term implications of that will be. Also, the salary adjustments seem like a unique approach. How do you think the people there feel about these changes overall?
