Q. How does it feel to be a published author?

A sense of accomplishment always motivates me. It inspires me to sit down and write more, and it becomes never-ending process of playing with creative fun.

Q. Did you wanted to be an author since your childhood?

My childhood never knew about such aspirations. My self-exploring journey after the year 2014 sprouted the seed of becoming a writer in me as I find writing my true calling.

Q. Tell us something about ‘Diversion of Death’.

Diversion of Death explores the theme of love. It’s story of a lower middle-class boy from remotes of Rajasthan in India. He decides to crack his comfort shell and dares to design the life he deserves. He explores different untouched dimensions of life amidst of the lack of money, skills, language, and even confidence. And ‘Desi love’ happens along the way. Two stories, love and self-discovery, wheels together and grips the readers till they touch the end. Because these are the things, love and dreams, that diverts the everyday death and keeps the world alive.

Q. Tell us about your background and life a bit.

I was born in a village in Rajasthan somewhere in Desert of Thar. Most of my childhood time was spent in farms, around ten kilometers away of village, and I walked that distance every day to attend my school. English had never been my language. I had got to learn the “A” of alphabet when I was aged eleven and registered in sixth standard. Living through the education of what my system as bestowed upon me, I got a decent looking academic degree with no skills, and no courage to project myself to the world to make a living. And 2014, out of sheer despair, when I got a backache and became quite a bedridden, I began reading books and the passion of writing was born somewhere in those days. Along with the process of writing Diversion of Death I learned the Language English.

Q. Will you continue to be a romantic genre writer?

I just want to explore myself. I love to write stories sewed in love, inspiration and humor. Love is an inseparable word for writers. Every genre is incomplete without touch of love.

Q. What are you going to do next as an author?

I have seen man under-the-surface social issues in our Rajasthan. It affects the life of youth drastically, and changes everything for them even before they could understand the purpose of their life. These issues have been untouched and unaddressed so far. I want to make people aware of those issues through my writings.

Q. Your all-time favorite books and writers?

Khaled Hosseini had been my all-time favorite writer, and I loved reading his all the books.

Q. How is the response of your book? The best compliment you got for your book so far.

The response of the readers had been so great, far beyond my expectations. The best compliment I got from a female reader on Instagram. “I was crying after reading your book. It’s not leaving me free. My emotions and feelings are still with characters. I’m still talking to them as if they belong to me. It’s one of the best romance books I have read so far after the Notebook by Nicholas Sparks.”

Q. Your message to upcoming fiction writers.

Be true to your story and your style. This is the only way to find a place among masses of author and readers. And have a definite plan to take your book to hands of your actual readers. Your story and its marketing, both work together.
