I Am Love
With me, no one is ever alone.

We have been told all we need is love…many times over.
And that we must love more.
But as we bear witness to our world’s desecration of the sacred Life we belong to, I ask, ‘what is love’?
I stare at the screen before me, soothed by a gentle breeze, the gift of the ceiling fan above, and ask, ‘Love, who are you? What is it we need? And what is it we need to give more of?’
And in a voice that mimicked the whispers of the fan, Love replied.
Gentle was the voice.
But fierce was the heart behind it.
‘You cannot know me if you do not know Life.
And you cannot live with me, or offer me, if I do not reside in your heart.
I have heard it many times in your world, ‘love is love!’
But this is not true.
How will you know me?
You will know me through the absence of hate.
When someone mocks, ridicules and humiliates another who is easy to mock, ridicule and humiliate, you will know it is not me.
Life has asked us to love our enemies.
There is nothing a heart beating only with a pure and genuine love for our sacred humanity cannot catch.
Love – my kind of love – has no limits.
That is my superpower.
Your humanity fails, and I say, ‘I’ve got you!’
The world does not know what led you to the place where you have found yourself, and even though an obscene world has decided it is noble and virtuous to mock you, ridicule and hate you – I am here.
With me in the world you will never be alone.
I cannot hate you because I cannot hate.
I was there when you came into this world crying. And I have watched as life shaped you into the human being you are today.
And yet – you are not mine to judge.
Not mine to humiliate.
Not mine to call out.
Cancel.
Or name and shame.
But you are mine to love.
You can know me because I am always there.
I am never far away.
I am with the hater and the hated.
I see your humanity.
And I know your humanity.
I am Love.
How could I weaponise your most essential nature against you?
How could I call myself Love and then turn on a human being?
It is my job to embrace your humanity.
What others use to hate, judge, mock and ridicule, I use to Love.
I draw on the same fuel as those who hate.
The gateway to the self-righteous hate and the socio-cultural supremacy in others, is my gateway to love.
They hate what they don’t like.
They hate what does not meet their expectations.
When it comes to who is worthy of my love, my expectations rest with me.
If I cannot offer love to the humanity of another, then I am not who I say I am.
If I cannot offer love to the humanity of another, then it is my shortcomings I need to address.
It is a heart of hate that hates because life refuses to bend to its will. And it is a heart full of love that can only love.
I am Love.
I begin in the same moment as hate.
When there is difference,
Failure,
Opposition,
An enemy.
As soon as one begins to view the humanity of another with disdain, I view it with love.
Where one mocks, ridicules and turns away – I embrace.
There is nothing your humanity can throw at me I cannot catch.
That is the whole point of my being.
It is my love your world needs.
Not the ‘love’ of the self-righteous that quickly turns to hate and judgement when another does not meet their expectations or approval.
What use is that kind of ‘love’ in a human experience such as yours.
One that goes running when it is needed most.
One that turns to hate and judgement in the same moment I get to work.
Love begins when hate begins.
When there is difference and opposition.
And when there is a challenge before it.
But to know me, and love like me one must gaze upon whatever aspect of our humanity sits furthest away from what you wish for, and gaze upon it with love.
I sit upon a star.
And all below has captured my heart. For my heart beats for Life. And my heart loves for Life.
It is not love that takes the flawed and imperfect gift of your humanity and turns it into a weapon.
To desecrate the humanity of another is to desecrate humanity.
What could be more inhumane than using one’s humanity against them.
To hate any aspect of your nature is to hate like a racist.
Your world permits, embraces and even celebrates hate when it is on trend. And when it suits popular opinion.
Where the vast expanse of Life begins and ends, so too, do I.
I do not switch myself on and off like the worldly love of the self-righteous.
I am who I am.
Always.
I do not ebb and flow with the tides of worldly trends and labels.
I remain steadfast and resolute.
No one escapes my reach. For there is no corner of Life – and no corner of your world – in which I do not exist.
That is my job.
To be there, when self-righteous hate and judgement are brought to life, is my job. I am not blind to the noble hate of your world.
The whole world could hate a single person, but it is I who will prevail.
For I will love them and hold them.
With me, no one is ever alone.
If you are one who has failed, or one who has made a mistake or one who believes their humanity has failed them, then know that you are not alone.
It is impossible.
For I am there with you.
A billion haters are no match for me.
Your humanity is Life’s humanity.
Through your imperfections and flaws you were designed to love.
And designed for love.
But some do not like the design.
Their ‘humanity’ is supreme.
And that of others – when it is not up to the same standards as theirs – is up for a public execution of their choice.
These people seek a world where no one exists who think differently to them.
They seek to drain the human soul from Life by bullying it into submission.
And yet, when Life has become soulless, neutral and bland because everyone has become so natural at pretending to be what a hateful and self-righteous world expects them to be, and at a time when our uniqueness and individual beauty is forgotten, they will hate the sick perfection they created.
And the free-flowing and liberating human experience I fought for, will be a thing of the past. Trapped in a prison yard patrolled by those who never learned to love.
Nothing good comes from eradicating your humanity.
Nothing good at all.
But you know that.
You see it every day.
Your world poisons Life.
That is why Life is sick.
Self-righteous hate and judgement is a cancer hiding in plain sight.
Only we treat those who wield this poisonous sword as noble, righteous, and virtuous, and the human beings they revile, ridicule and crucify as inadequate.
If someone is not worthy or your love, it is not love you hold in your heart.
Well, not the Love who I am.
Your world is not built on my love.
It is built on the judgement, hatred and humiliation of your enemies.
And of those who aren’t like you.
But you can’t win.
You can never win.
Because I will always be here.
Ready and available.
Even for those who will never know me.
Believe me, there are hearts in your world who cannot hate.
They cannot bring themselves to mock, judge or ridicule another.
They do not have the capacity to be of ‘your world’, when your world hates – even if being of your world is what they might wish for.
And if you were to kill them all, you still wouldn’t win.
For I remain.
And Life will always bear another who can hold me.
Even if they must stand alone, against the world.
Not all loves are the same.
But all hate is.
Don’t accuse me of ever being absent. For it is not in my nature to go missing.
Trust me!
When all else fails I am there.
Life is my great Love.
Life is the reason for my being.
As it is.
Not as I or anyone else might want it to be.
I love because there is something or someone in need of it.
I do not discriminate.
No one is left out.
I can only love because I am LOVE.
And so, it is.
Amen’
Gentle is the voice of Love.
But fierce is the heart behind it.
