Humanity's Celestial Glow.

A Map of the Self.

By Novel AllenPublished 3 months ago Updated 3 months ago 10 min read

We are all born with a holy celestial glow, an angelic full body halo...it exists to illuminate our chakras, our seven centres of spiritual power contained within our human forms. They assist our psychic connections, though they are mainly esoteric energy-centers.

Chakra and divine energies

Shining, she holds

the noose made of the energy of will,

the hook which is energy of knowledge,

the bow and arrows made of energy of action.

Split into support and supported,

—Yoginihrdaya

I never knew that I am a beautiful glowing living organism...filled with perpetual light. I have discovered my light as the roadmap to the past and present charting the understanding of my Self.

How does one write a map of the Self. A map unique to just me. A map which is my life story, but not my life story...something which has pulsed from the day I was born...which has either held me back, or propelled me forward. Or existed in the in-between of my striving...guiding me.

Should I chart myself as a map which anyone would like to follow. I haven't climbed any lofty mountains, written any famous novels, discovered the cure for any of life's many ailments, or even achieved anything beyond that which an ordinary life has to offer.

Maybe I am being too hard on myself. Maybe it is not always the lofty ideals or achievements which define a life well lived. Maybe it is the little things that really matter...a kindness shown, the gift of friendship, a sacrifice or an unselfish act...a giving of the self when one barely has anything left to give.

I had no idea. Until someone said:

You Are Glowing Right Now. And When You Die...That Light Disappears.

The biological cycle of our existence seems relatively straightforward: we’re born, we live, we die. The end. But is it?

When we examine existence at the cellular level, things get a bit more interesting. You, me, and all of the 108 billion or so Homo sapiens who’ve ever walked the Earth have all been our own constellation...of more than 30 trillion cells. Each of our bodies is a collective organism of living human cells and microbes working in cooperation to create what our minds view as “life.” However, a growing number of new studies have found that, at least for some cells, death isn’t the end. Instead, it’s possibly the beginning of something new and wholly unexpected. One aspect of our our lives being exchanged for another...We may never understand, but it adds meaning to an afterlife.

Help comes in surprising ways

We as writers, albeit in different degrees, never know when something that we write or say will become the turning point in the life of another. Neither do we know when something we read will become ours...When a lightbulb will suddenly snap on in our heads and we have an epiphany.

I recently read an article by a young woman that was earning her mixed reviews. She had discovered that human beings emit a life-like glow.

"That is not groundbreaking news, this information has been around for thousands of years, IT IS DIVINE LIGHT that can be diminished or increased". Vouchsafed her naysayer.

And he/she was right. For written within the hottest book still selling in the world, the eternal book of prophesy...The Holy Bible. One can easily find this knowledge, we only have to look.

In Matthew 5: 14-16. It reads:

"Ye are the light of the world, a city that is set on a hill cannot be hid. Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house.

Let your light so shine before men "that they may see your good works and glorify your father which is in Heaven".

We are the candle, the blessed light.

I confess that I was brought up by a devout mother and a basically take it or leave it father. There was nothing that excited me in the going to church every Sunday, and attending Sunday School was a ritual forced upon me by my mother. I could never get the deep conviction that she had about Heaven and Hell.

Although somewhere in my psyche, a faint light of wanting to understand it all, lingered in the periphery of the need to grasp the concept of a god who gave so much to some, just enough to survive to others...and seemingly nothing at all to those who suffered most, sometimes die, while calling upon the universe for help...with no visible help forthcoming.

We never had much, so why was my mother so insistent on dragging us through all of the rituals. And so it went on for my entire life...I tried to feel the holy spirit, but I had just the 'lukewarm dim flame', which the Bible frowns upon...I was doomed for hell. For this lukewarm flame suggested a spiritual state of indifference and half-heartedness, a less than zealous outlook, which for me, could be said not only of faith, but the entire workings of the world as I see it.

My living flame was dim indeed.

An accidental read

I could not believe that I had finally discovered, in my waning years...upon reading a few lines on my phone, that I now understood the secret to my existence...not only in a spiritual way...but encompassing the entirety of creation. I mean, there are still lots of questions left unanswered that I may or may never fully grasp....BUT...

There is a higher power. It does not matter in what shape or form that we accept its existence. And that power gave us the greatest map there will ever be to finding ourselves. It is written in a sacred book. We just have to get our compass out, our satellite dish as it were and follow the signs towards that light.

I now realize why the glow of youth is so radiant, it is when innocence is at its brightest...when stress and responsibilities are not constant reminders of the valiant struggle to forge our own path. Youth can live forever if allowed to stay young...was that the plan had it not been for Eve and original sin. Eden with all its healthy lifestyle could have maintained our glow forever. Questions abound, with no ready answers.

I was extremely brightly lit in my youth. Those times when I chased life for the thrill of it, chasing silly boys, chasing knowledge, chasing for the sake of the chase, because to stop meant losing. I had to make sure that I was always in a position to support myself...I would never be so broke that I needed help.

People warned us, but youth never listens. Such a pity. Our glow would be much brighter if we had slowed down and smelled the roses.

Still, there were times when I came too close to broke, having to ask for assistance, making me feel embarrassed and ashamed...even though I was willing to reach out my hands on many occasions to assist others in need.

My glow shone bright and dark, high and low, hot and cold. I could feel it waxing and waning...but never understood it then.

What am I saying - I now realize that we are given a light which glows, and how we utilize this glow, translates into the unique individual which we are meant to be.

Our lives glow in tandem with our choices and decisions. Joy, sorrow, love, shame, success, disappointment and all of life's idiosyncratic convolutions.

We are meant to share the glow...to keep each other warm when another person's light is struggling to flare its flame.

When we are ill or otherwise impaired the light dims. When people lose their will to climb life's mountains, the light flickers, warning us to find the strength to recharge.

We glow with health, we glow with kindness, we glow when we take the time to appreciate the beauty around us. How much we glow is entirely up to every individual.

Just imagine how much happiness makes us glow. I believe that extreme happiness can lead to a much healthier and longer life. I understand the concept much clearer now.

It is the same in our family lives, our work lives and our general interaction with the world around us.

I now realize why in my previous job, I turned down a promotion that would have meant more of everything, except my happiness. I weighed the pros and cons and decided that my freedom to work where I was most comfortable was better for me as I got older. People thought me crazy, the work was less appealing...so why. Had I been privy to the knowledge of my light shining...that would have been my answer.

"I will not allow anyone to dim my light. It is all in my hands. It says so right there in the good book". Ha ha. They would probably have thought me more mad than they already did.

This mysterious glow of organisms could, perhaps make a difference on our perception, if nothing else...remembering to increase our glow when we feel depressed or sad - maybe could open the door to remote sensing of our health, joy and outlook on life.

"You aren’t a firefly or a crystal jellyfish. But, despite not bioluminescing like those animals, you’ve been constantly glowing your whole life. It’s not a chemical reaction meant to attract attention using light. And it’s not your body heat showing up on night vision goggles. But you do light up in the visible part of the light spectrum. It’s just not bright enough to see with the naked eye".

Just imagine if every single one of us human things, allowed our lights to perpetually shine in the way they were made to glow . What a great and wonderous map could the illuminated world become.

Imagine, we could completely eliminate the need for Hell. We could be joined in a proper Matrix of health and happiness. Living forever as we were probably made to do.

Damn the Devil for the Temptation of Eve...for all this means that the Bible is right and there was our first sin...

I had my map with me my whole life without realizing that I could have been following a more direct path. Could I have spared myself the added grief of all of the futile wrong paths, alleyways, hills and mountains that I unnecessarily tried to navigate and climb.

If only I had listened to my body glowing with the heat and cold which each decision emitted, directing me to my true destination. Not a physical place, but more of a state of mind, or my spirit angel whispering in my ear, trying to get my attention. (An attention which was hell-bent on going wherever it was headed, right or wrong path be damned).

Is this thing called intuition related to the glow. The glow turned up or down, depending on the situation. So much to ponder.

I learned that the phrase, "you are what you eat", is deep and life affirming. Once I filled in for a friend on a live-in job with a young Jewish couple. During that time, I was made to eat only healthy foods, even the veggie pizza was healthy, which was delicious btw. In the six weeks I spent there, I lost upwards of ten pounds and my skin glowed with health.

I need to find the map to that glow again.

Maybe this is how I find my way. Everyone has to see their own path using whatever feels right for them.

After my heart surgery, I became somewhat depressed...my usual self felt changed. My light dimmed, I could feel it not glowing as it used to. I just did not have the energy to 'charge' my inner battery. I now, hopefully, have found that I have to be the one to restart and recharge my inner light. I have to reroute my map...reset my compass glow and shine my light both inward and outward.

The world is in dire need of the human glow.

I will Listen to my inner self. Perhaps my body is unintentionally communicating the map to the state of my life and health with light. And perhaps someday, soon I hope, I’ll learn to use this glow as I discover more personal data for my wellbeing. A Photon-detecting smartwatch to measure the glow would be very helpful...and even going beyond? A living map to my wellness.

Hey, why not.

Anything is now possible.

Remember, this is my map...not yours. The path to self is unique to all.

Afterword:

How science sees the glow.

For the first time, scientists have directly measured “ultraweak” photon emissions from living organisms.

They have directly measured this mysterious, weak source of photon emissions in living mice and plants, and observed that their “biophoton” levels dropped soon after the organisms died. In the future, new discoveries about why plants and animals glow could give scientists a groundbreaking diagnostic tool to monitor their state of health or learn more about living systems, scientists say. Perhaps even detect whether or not an organism is still alive.

The fact that these researchers were able to isolate and track the light particles at all is remarkable, since body heat interacting with electromagnetic waves in the surrounding environment should have theoretically overwhelmed this practically invisible gleam. Yet, that wasn’t the case, according to the team, made up of scientists from the University of Calgary and the National Research Council of Canada. They detailed their experiment results in April in The Journal of Physical Chemistry Letters.

Tissues in all organisms undergo stress when exposed to unsatisfactory conditions, including heat, cold, pathogens, and toxins. Subsequent alterations in fats and proteins involve cellular changes, even on a subatomic level, such as electrons jumping to a higher energy level. When they return to their normal positions in the atom, these electrons release photons, or light particles. Normally, the photons are too few to see with the naked eye, but these subatomic signals of cellular processes were likely the source of the light researchers saw (though the experiment did not specifically test for responses to stressful stimuli).

The animal kingdom is full of enviable biological talents that in the context of human abilities would be considered superpowers. Snakes can smell in stereo (determining location of scent using dual organs, like humans use ears), spiders can spin webs stronger than steel, birds can fly, bats can “see” with sound - in fact, all of those traits have been exploited in the pages of comic books for decades (except for maybe the snake thing).
