Children’s Day came around once again this year and in annual tradition, parents and children everywhere celebrated by taking their young ones out to get ice cream, to play, or to stay indoors and do an activity of some sort.

This year, a lot of celebrities also got in on the action and decided to celebrate Children’s Day with their own children. Here is a countdown of how 7 popular Nigerian celebrities celebrated their children or themselves on Children’s Day. Are you ready to jump in? Then let’s go!

1. Tiwa Savage

Nigerian singer Tiwa Savage decided to celebrate this year’s Children’s Day by doing a partnership video with Nigerian beverage brand Twisco who got together a number of children and asked them what they would want to be when they grow up. Among these children asked was Tiwa Savage’s own son Jamil Balogun and the video they created together definitely had people feeling serious baby fever.

2. Mercy Johnson-Okojie

Mercy Johnson-Okojie and her children gathered in the family living room to play a game of water fighting. Mercy battled against her children to fight for the grand prize – the youngest of the children. It looks fun and it looks like Mercy had a lot of fun with the kids, what more can a mother ask for?

3. Uche Jombo

For Children’s Day this year, Nollywood veteran actress Uche Jombo released a rare video of her son feeling himself extensively as he worked on a book he was holding. Uche captioned the video:

It's the self hype for me😂 Just In case you feeling a kind of way! Here’s Tomorrow's birthday boy @gqmrod with some self hype motivation for you💯 Happy #childrensday ❤️

It’s such a cute video and the young man’s self-hype is truly so interesting to watch.

4. Simi

While fans of Nigerian singer Simi waited and lurked around her social media page to see new pictures or videos of her young daughter Deja during the Children’s Day, Simi took the time to remind fans that even if she is now a mother, she too is STILL a baby herself and likes to play as such. We all love Simi for her silliness and goofiness and it came out really strong in her Children’s Day video that sees her running up and down an empty hallway. It’s so fun to watch.

5. Laide Bakare

Nollywood actress Laide Bakare celebrating this year’s Children’s Day took to social media to show off a collage video of her babies to her over 1 million followers on Instagram writing as a caption,

Happy children’s Day sunshine

Children are the Best creations of God. They spread joy in every season. Every child should grow with love and care. Let make the life of the little ones happy and healthy.

6. Mabel Segun

Iconic storyteller, sportswoman and broadcaster Mabel Segun celebrated Children’s Day by doing a partnership video with GTBank where she shared stories and fun anecdotes from her life to little children and also gave them a lesson or two about writing. It’s so heartwarming to see and hear.

7. Monalisa Chinda

Nigerian actress Monalisa Chinda’s daughter’s birthday just so happens to also fall on Children’s Day and so a result, she had double reason to celebrate her daughter Tamar and she did. She made not one but two posts on her social media: one being a carousel of photos of Tamar and the other being a throwback video of her. Both are super adorable and I just want to use this opportunity to also say a very big Happy Birthday to Tamar.

Happy Children’s Day to all the kids around the world. We’re relying so much on you and I believe you will not fail us! Right now, please enjoy your childhood, it is so so precious.

That’s All.
