Going abroad for education

It is always beautiful from a distance...

By Ali ShahzaibPublished 3 years ago 3 min read

Mary had always been one to dream big. She had big visions for her future, and the only way to achieve them was to get the best education possible. She had always been a passionate student, eager to learn and grow in any way that she could. But as much as she loved the idea of studying abroad, leaving home and everything she knew behind was a daunting prospect.

Mary had grown up in a small town with her parents and younger brother. They were a tight-knit family, and Mary cherished the moments they spent together. Her parents had always encouraged and supported her, and Mary knew it was their unwavering love that had driven her forward.

But as much as they had given her, Mary knew that she had to leave them behind to pursue her dreams. She would be leaving behind the familiarity of her home, the comfort of her surroundings, and the support of her family. It was a challenging decision, and one that she didn't make lightly.

The summer before her departure was bittersweet. Mary savored every moment with her family, knowing that they would soon be separated by distance and time. She spent hours reminiscing with her parents, retelling old stories and creating new memories. But there was always a hint of sadness in the air, a reminder of the impending goodbye.

As the days flew by, Mary found herself thinking more and more about the adventure that lay ahead. She would be flying to a new country, discovering new cultures, and meeting new people. The excitement was palpable, and Mary couldn't wait to immerse herself in this new world.

The big day arrived, and Mary found herself standing at the airport, surrounded by the people she loved. She hugged her parents tightly, trying to hold back the tears that threatened to spill from her eyes. Her brother was there too, holding her hand and silently promising to be there for her, no matter what.

Mary boarded the plane, her heart heavy with emotion. She watched as the world she had always known melted away from the window, replaced by the promise of something new and daring. It was thrilling and terrifying all at once.

But as the plane soared higher and higher, Mary realized something. She wasn't alone. She was surrounded by other students, all with their own dreams and ambitions. They were embarking on this journey together, and Mary found comfort in that realization.

Over the next few months, Mary dove headfirst into her studies. She immersed herself in the culture of her new home, exploring every inch of the city and meeting people from all over the world. She discovered a new sense of independence within herself, one that she had never known before. And even though she missed her family terribly, she knew that this experience was something that she would never forget.

Mary's time abroad ended up being even more incredible than she could have ever imagined. She graduated with honors, made lifelong friendships, and discovered a newfound passion for travel. But most importantly, she left with a new perspective on life. Mary realized that it wasn't about the place that you called home, but rather the people that made it feel like home. And no matter how far apart they may be, her family would always be her anchor.

As Mary made her way back home, she knew that she was a different person than the one who had left just a few months before. She was stronger, more independent, and full of gratitude for the people who had supported her along the way. And as she hugged her family tightly, Mary knew that this adventure had been the best decision she had ever made.
