Speaking to Channels Television, here are the pieces of advice that Kanayo O. Kanayo gave as he clocked 60 years old. He said:
60 is just like any other number. In fact whoever said life beings at 40 was joking. Life for me begins at 60. Cuz I'm a pack full of experience. A pack full of sacrifices I've made. A pack full of what can help me mentor people who want to know what it takes to look younger than 60. (Here are some things to help):
(1.) Young men and women should find it very promising to do something they're passionate about. Fortunately we run a system where you become jack of all trades, you try to do many things. It's good to multi-task but there's need for consistency. Commitment and consistency has kept me to the level where I can say to God be the glory.
(2.) Multi-tasking is good. Diversification is good. But that which you do seamlessly is your passion.
(3.) Find that which you can do. Just as I told my children, I'm not going to look for work for you. My two sons are studying ICT. I said don't hope to work for government, create an app by which you can be somebody, and that's what I'm telling every other young man or young woman anywhere in the world.
(4.) Try to be self-employed. Entrepreneurship is it for me and if you look at the level of unemployment in Nigeria and the work young men do on social media, you know that many people are looking for work when they're not supposed to look for work. Many people can create employment.
(5.) Nigerians are wonderful people on their own. Most Nigerians don't even need government. They only need government access. If the light is there, water is there, government can function well.
So I want to encourage every person, young ones, do that which you can do. Do not wait for government employment. In fact, create job on your own and we can all make a better society.
