She was always on my mind. I continuously thought about her. Not in a creepy way that says, “I’m going to scare her off” kind of way. But in a you are the most beautiful girl I have ever seen type of feel. Let’s be realistic. This is likely being over dramatic, plus how can one decipher when they see that girl?

Now that I thought about it I wasn’t sure. But, I did not care. I laid eyes on her as she walked past me and I knew that she was special. I thought about her day and night, about how I would go up to her and introduce myself, and we would go on a date. Then the rest would be history. I had to stop daydreaming so much, but it made me so happy. I had a pep in my step I had never had before. Suddenly, going to work on the train was fun because I knew that there was a chance I could see her.

I started to step up my appearance hoping I would run into her. For two weeks though, I had nothing. What happened? This could not be happening. Did the love of my life slip through my fingers I wondered. In emotional pain I knew I had to let it go and move on. It was no use in thinking about her. Maybe she was on a business trip or got onto the wrong train. Whatever it was I was no longer seeing her.

About three days later. I was walking to work around noon, lost in my thoughts, when I looked right and I saw her. I immediately felt a hop in chest. My heartbeat quickened and I almost wanted to say no because I wasn’t ready. My clothes were not picturesque, I was not shaven, and my clothes were on the older side. I did not have a choice this was my shot. I walked into the shop and she was reading a book, while drinking a cup of hot tea.

She was so pretty. When you have a crush on someone they can do no wrong. Everything they do is magical and you want to spend every minute with them. I was close to making this a reality, so I at last approached her, “Hi.” She looked up at me startled, but I quickly smiled making the connection easier. “I just had to talk to you. You are so pretty. And I would love to take you to dinner sometime.” She was friendly and had the most adorable smile. She was flattered and tickled by my approach. She gave me her number. She told me she had to go, but that I should text her.

I was overjoyed. Her name was Victoria. It matched her aura. It was a classically beautifully name for a classy girl. I text her two days later excited to make plans, but I heard nothing. “Maybe she’s busy.” After two days more passed I began to lose hope. After a week I was annoyed. And after two weeks I deleted her number. I realized that it was likely a fake number. I was taken back by this unfortunate mishap. “It’s always the pretty ones that have no soul.” I was upset and wanted nothing to do with her.

I was on my way to the train station to go back home after my work day had ended. I was about 40 feet from the terminal when I heard. “Hey! It that you?” I was not sure who it was, but I turned around just to make sure she was not talking to me. I turned around and it was Victoria. Stunned, I did not have time to compute my emotions. She apologized and quickly told me that her phone had broken, but that she could not get a new one until today. I almost felt bad for my assumptions. The girl of my dreams was back and I was hoping we could spend time together.

“I’m so sorry for leaving you hanging. I only have five minutes, but I would love to spend it with you.”

“I would love that.”
