Enneagram type 5 - the mysterious, secretive type

Enneagram type 5 is the investigator personality. They are known for being mysterious and quiet. They are interested in wanting to aquire information by themselves in the background. Enneagram type 5 is known for being more withdrawn than other types as they can easily feel a sense of overwhelm. They like to remain hidden and in the background. Type 5s can be extroverted even though they are generally seen as introverted.

Enneagram type 5 is a mysterious and secretive type. They usually have a special area of interest they become drawn or even obsessive towards. This could ve chess, history etc and they often become experts in that field.

Enneagram type can be easily want to withdrawn or be overwhelmed. This is why they specialise in a certain field of intwrest which allows them to have a sense of competency or mastery. This could involve eother the arta or sciences. 5s protect themselves with their focus on information and their withdrawn stance.

Enneagram type 5 is typically seen as a loner yet they can still be good friends with those they are close. Though stereotypically seen as a misanthrope or loner, they can have a friendly or humane side to the misanthrope stereotype. An Enneagram 5 is usually a more introverted personality, yet it is possible for a 5 to be a more extroverted personality in some cases.

Type 5 has a tendency to enjoy research. They may have at least one area of research that interests them. Areas of research they may be involved in could be science, maths or the humanities when they can learn to understand that topic in order to feel protected against overwhelm.

For Enneagram type 5 either has a 4 or a 6 wibg. The 6 wing is more paranoid whioe the 4 wing is more eccentric and esoteric. Eother wing can be interested in sciences or the arts.

The five with a four wing is more expressive and outgoing. Even though the four wing is seen as introverted, in 5w4 the five is often more physically expressive and outgoing, even though 6 wing is seen as more people oriented.

The five with a six wing is a paranoid or introverted personality that wants their secrets to remain in tact. They are generally known as being more a detached or antisocial. The 5w6 may have a few close friends they interact with, and the six wing gives them an endearing or likeable quality.

Their special field of interest allows them to have a sense of control ornpower. This means they can have a sense of control over that area of interest. They can often be seen as ontellectual because of this, as type 5 is often stereotypically seen as the intellectual of the types. This may be part of their persona, or they may keep that aspect more hidden.

Type 5 is generally known as eccentric and secretive. They can become intensely involved in a special area that is of interest to them. They are often seen as withdrawing type though there are some extroverted version of this personality. 5w4 is seen as secretive yet the 4 component gives them a more expressive element.

Five is seen as being mysterious or eccentric, though there are some more outgoing or extroverted types of 5. 5 is usually seen as a researcher or intellectual though this isn't necessarily how they always are. Their known in a certain field allows them to withdraw from what might cause them a sense of fear or overwhelm.

Type fives are known within the Enneagram community as misanthrope, yet some 5s have a more generous way about them. It can be important at times for type 5 to try to be more social with others.
