Delilah's Winning Love Story
"Over Conquering Fear for Love"
Everywhere she turned Delilah kept seeing ads for the little black book. She could hardly believe that if she wrote a book about a little black book she could win the grand prize of $20,000. But what would she write about, how could she possibly write anything that would impress the judges over the many other contestants. There had to be thousands, maybe even millions of stories containing little black books and coming into $20,000. How could it not be, Delilah had seen the ad hundreds of times herself. Every time she logged on to Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and every website. Delilah wasn't sure if it was good marketing or it was a sign that she should enter the contest. At first she thought the contest was cool and how awesome it would be to win $20,000 for writing a book. But it was just a thought. She continued on with her day-to-day life. Seeing the ad for the contest more and more, Delilah started to daydream about all the many things she could do with the prize money. She could buy a car. She could give her mother some money. She could give her siblings some money. She could pay off some old debts. She could donate some to her local church. She could buy her daughter a bed set. She could help her family with funeral cost from the losses they faced due to the pandemic. She can invest in some property to help other homeless veterans as she had been helped when she returned home. As she thought of many ways the prize money could help in her life, she began to get discouraged as she thought of all the many contestants that could have far better reasons for the prize money. What if there was a single mother with four kids sleeping on a family members couch and in far more need than her. What if there's a family with a sick child who needs the money for medical bills. What if there are hundreds of contestants with far better stories than she could ever write. So she set the idea of winning to the side once more and tried to continue on with her life. No book, no prize. But no matter how hard she tried there was a part of her that felt she was destined to win. Why else would she keep seeing the ads for the contest? Why else would the contest winner be announced on her birthday? Why else would she have such a crazy yearning to win the prize? With the due date nearing and a panic in her heart, she decided to at least try. But what to write about? Should she write about her life or a fictional story? Where to start? Her rollercoaster childhood? Her mother's struggles as a single teen mom who raised four kids? Her time in the military? Her struggle with depression and suicide and how she overcame it? Her time after the service? The loss of her aunts, grandma, and great-grandmother? Becoming a first time mother and raising her daughter ? or even life through a pandemic? As thoughts raced through her mind, time continued to tick by in the blink of an eye . Just as she was about to give up the thought occurred to her "you'll never know, if you never do" and " you have to walk by faith not by your senses". So she decided to meditate and envisioned submitting her finished little black notebook. Seeing the judges loving her story. Seeing the judges choose her story and announcing her as the winner on her birthday. She began to imagine how she would react to the news and how it would feel to win the $20,000. Seeing the money in her account. Feelings of excitement, joy, happiness, and accomplishment began to overwhelm her. She truly felt grateful for the opportunity for it had pushed her past her fears and limiting beliefs and showed her she was capable of so much more. She had so much life and so many stories in her that she wanted to share to help so many others to realize how fear shows up in our lives time and time again, and not allowing it to overtake you and becoming more than a conqueror over your fears and limiting beliefs. Anything is truly possible, good or bad, what's important is whatever you choose to focus on is what you get more of in your life. And with that epiphany Delilah rose from her mediation, wrote and submitted her story, and continued on to write 3 best-sellers, and 5 short stories that she entered into other contest and won first prize on the vocal platform.
Delilah's winning love story that won her the contest.
"Over Conqueroring Fear for Love"
Dezi Loved Jaxson for as long as she could remember. After all Jaxson was her first childhood friend, her first crush, her first best friend, and her uncle. Though Dezi never felt like Jaxson was her uncle as Jaxon was exactly 11 months older then Dezi. They shared a bond that not even time could diminish.
As kids Dezi and Jaxson would run around and play Tarzan and Jane at Home, as Dezi's mom stayed with her stepmother who was also Jaxson's mom. And Jaxson would always tell everyone how he would one day marry Dezi. Naturally their mothers would sit them down and tell them they could never be together as they are uncle and niece. But Jaxson never cared, and he told everyone that he knows how he feels and he loves Dezi more than anyone in the world. However Dezi was more afraid of getting in trouble and said she did not feel the same way. So Dezi's mom decided to move Dezi and her younger sister lola away.
No matter how much time went by Dezi missed Jaxson and would always talk about him and their shared memories. Their lives had now taken them down separate paths. Jaxson had homeschooling and never got in trouble. Dezi went to school and was on punishment and dissaplined alot and traveled. When they were teenagers the two finally met again at Dezi's auntie Rosa's house. Who is also Jaxson's sister. Dezi had just turned 16, just 2 month's again. So jaxson was now 17 . When Dezi first laid eyes on Jaxson she couldn't help but light up like a Christmas tree. Puberty set in and did wonders for them both. Jaxson tried to keep his excitement down and played it cool as Dezi embraced him for the first time in years. They set and talked for hours on auntie Rosa's couch. Sharing their experiences , and plans for the future. Thats when Jaxson told Dezi he wanted to join the serve and fight for his family and country. Jaxson planned to talk to a recruiter as soon as he turned 18. Dezi was perplexed as she was both scared for Jaxson's life and happy that he was so excited and knew what he wanted to do with his life. Dezi shared in Jaxson's excitement and told of her dreams of opening a bakery lounge, and how she would attend a culinary school. Jaxson told Dezi that restaurants don't usually make it past the first year. Dezi replied that it was a good thing that she wasn't opening a restaurant and pointed out that she would have a bakery lounge where people could come and relax with free wifi, karaoke night, a poetry night, coffee and the best baked goods that would keep them wanting more. She may even serve food and drinks one day. Just as Jaxson began to take another jab at Dezi's plans, her cousin Lionel came and dragged Jaxson off to play video games. So Dezi went to her cousin Anna's room in hopes of getting Jaxson out of her mind and catching up with her cousin. Anna was excited to finally catch up with Dezi. But Dezi couldn't keep her mind off Jaxson, just knowing he was down the hall playing video games with the boys in Lionel's room. Dezi could no longer resist asking Anna if she knew if Jaxson was talking to anyone, adding that she has a friend who thinks he is cute, to throw off any suspicion that she cared. Anna told Dezi that her friend Abby likes him and she thinks he likes her because they were kissing at her sleepover. Dezi could hardly believe her ears. Was it true, did Jaxson really like Abby? Did he really kiss her? Her feeling and thoughts began to overwhelm her. She had to know, but how? Jaxson was down the hall with the boys and she couldn't just go ask him in front of everyone. So she asked Anna for a paper and pen, and wrote Jaxson a quick note. She acted like she had to go to the bathroom and slipped down the hall to Lionel's room. Just as she was thinking of how to get the note to Jaxson, Lionel's best friend monty was headed back from the bathroom. Dezi asked Monty to give the note to Jaxson. Monty took the note and played like he was going to read it, saying "well well what do we have here?" . Dezi told Monty to stop playing and just give the note to Jaxson. Monty went into Lionel's room and dropped the note in Jaxson's lap. Jaxson opened the note shocked that it read "Do you like Abby? And did you kiss her?" Disstracted by the note Jaxson lost the game and had to give up the controller. Jaxson jumped up saying he was headed to the bathroom. He caught Dezi in the hall before she went back to Anna's room. "Are you serious right now?" He held up the note. " word on the block is you like Abby and made out at the sleepover last weekend. So is it true?" Replied Dezi. "No" said Jackson. "Well kinda, Abby told me she liked me and she did try to kiss me but I told her that I like someone else and so I could never be with her." Dezi was shocked " so you don't like Abby then who do you like?" Jackson smiled leaned very close to Dezi and said " you and only you" and he kissed Dezi ever so sweetly. Dezi was ecstatic. Jaxson leaned back and looked into Dezi's eyes and told her " you are the only one I have ever wanted and will ever want and when I join the military I want to make you proud and marry you, nothing has changed, I will make you my wife." All Dezi could say is " but you're supposed to be my uncle" thats when Jaxson grabbed Dezi's hand and took her to the coat closet and told her that he was not her uncle and he found his real birth certificate and His mom is not his real mom. His real mom is another family member thats not related to Dezi or her mom by blood, so they really not related at all and they could be together. Dezi was surprised and couldn't believe it. " are you serious, this must be a joke" Jaxson told her that he could and would prove it but they had to keep it a secret because Jaxson wasn't supposed to know. Dezi agreed to wait for the proof and keep the secret. They kissed and headed back. As Dezi lay in Anna's room that night thoughts raced, through everything Jaxson had told her and the kisses they shared, as she drifted off to sleep. The next morning Dezi's mom piced her up bright and early. Dezi didn't get to say goodbye to Jaxson because he was still in the shower. Not knowing they wouldn't see each other for another year. They kept in contact the old fashioned way by writing letters and sending thru the mail. Months went by with no letters at times because Dezi was always on punishment. Dezi finally got off punishment and relieved a letter from Jaxson inviting her to his going away party.
The day of Jaxson going away party. Jaxson got Dezi alone and told her that his ship off day was in 2 days and he wanted her to go with him and they would get married on base. Dezi was so scared, she knew her mother and grandparents would freak out, but she knew that she loved Jaxson all of this time, together or apart, and it had certainly been enough apart. Dezi agreed to use the ticket Jaxson got her and sneak away in two days to be with him. Jackson also gave Dezi a little black notebook that contained proof that they were not related and His bonus check for joining the military for $20,000.
Two days later Dezi conquered her fears of what everyone else would think or say and ran away with Jaxson , who joined the military, married her and gave her 3 beautiful sons and 2 daughters. They truly began to live their own lives no matter what anyone else had to say.
The End.
