Here I am taking a chance to write finally. I am finally ready to put my words out there. I saw the ad for the little black book challenge. The details are entirely left up to me. I tend to focus too much of what the prompt tells me. I had wanted to make the little black book the focus of the story but I really should just write and see what comes to mind. I write best when I am not too caught up in the details. Oh man there are so many ideas going through my head right now. It's midnight of course the ideas are flowing. I find it easier to write at night even though I am pretty tired right now. I had a full day. I started to write and found myself drifting...

Click after click as the professional took photographs of the lavishly decorated multi-millionaire's home. It was to make an appearnce in a luxury lifestyle magazine. There was a particular scene set up in the study where a little black journal adorned the white desk. It was ancient looking but it was piece the muli-millionaire was proud of obtaining. The multi-millionaire was making a name for their self, but it was shortly after the photoshoot that the multi-millionaire disappeared.

The manison stood untouched it was said to be cursed because the multi-millionaire who owned it had disappeared. It had stood abandoned for twenty years now. I had heard it still had the full library intact which is what mostly prompted me to explore but also search for clues as to what had happened.

I took my time searching each room allowing myself to enjoy the grandiose views. I eventually found myself in the library where there was a hidden room that held the study with the white desk. It had been the multi-millionaire's favorite room in the house according to the interview in the luxury lifestyle magazine. I felt drawn to the study. After carefully examining each book shelf I found the secret door. It opened with a slight creak. There stood in the middle of the room was the grand white desk. Every item was still in place. The chair was slightly pulled away and in the middle of the desk was a little black book.

I ambled up to the little black book. I noticed it was slightly worn almost ancient looking, but seemed like it was just a regular journal. I opened it and a bright light burst out and I felt my feet lift and some force pulling me into the book. I fell into a field of flowers. I looked around but there was nothing but flowers for miles. The odd object in the field was a red door. I stood up and moved towards the door. I turned the knob and it swung open into a room adorned with blue and gold. It was a ballroom full of people waltzing. I quickly made my way towards the grand doorway trying not to bump into anyone but I realized no one really saw me or heard me.

Where was I? I had made it out of the ballroom into a grand hallway. It was then I saw a face that was vaguely familiar, but I could not pinpoint where I had seen it. I saw another door that was blue at the end of the hallway and I rushed towards it.

"Wait!" I heard a voice say. I heard steps behind me and I became panicked.

"Wait stop.. Don't go through that door!.. was the last thing before I opened the blue door and plunged into water. I was now in a lavender dress that flowed around me as I found myself floating to the top closer to the sunlight. The coolness of the surface hit my face as I dragged myself out of the water onto the white sand. Just when I thought I could relax I felt the ground give out and I was falling again.

I then found myself sitting in front a table with an unscratched lottery ticket. A quarter was sitting next to it. I scratched it. I won 20,000 dollars.

And then I woke up.

I was still at my desk with a blank notebook in front of me. I realized I got nothing done and the article about the murder of the multi-millionaire was due by 10 am. Instead I had typed a stupid opening monologue about writing a story about a little black book.
