Cancelling Everything.
Cancelling everything isn't the answer.
As I sit and type on a laptop that will eventually become obsolete, I sit and wonder what the world will be like after generation Z is through with it. Where will we be? I sit and fear the day my children birth my grandchildren. A day that should be a joyous occasion, but will be muddled with fear. The reason behind this is, because generation Z is known as cancel culture. The ultimate cancel generation. Generation Alpha may be the last generation to see some of the last greatest voice actors there were from the older days the good things from our past. You all see cartoons, books, and even music as offensive and have this urge to cancel everything you don’t like. My words to you granted I am at the end of the Millennial generation is this. I am happily married to a boomer, who is raising, Alpha kids, kids who very well will not see the offense in old things, but find a way to do better! At least that is my hope.
You see cancelling a cartoon skunk, because you find his actions inappropriate or promoting rape is offensive to me. This character you are cancelling was purely only meant to be funny. To be entertaining. Comedy at it’s finest is dark, raw, and down right scary, because it sells! It makes people laugh using the bad times everyone falls on and makes it relatable to everyday life! You want to cancel Donald Duck, because what he’s an eighty- seven year old duck who don’t wear pants. How is that offensive?! If you find cancelling Donald Duck as appealing I pray you never in your life step foot into a nursing home, hospital, or even a rehab facility! What you don’t realize is that in those facilities that happens every day. You have some old gentleman who defended your right risking his life, who now lives with Alzheimer’s walking out of his room forgetting his pants, while CNA’s and others on the floor are trying to get him back into his room to put on pants while he’s easily agitated at them. I pray you never step outside of your little plastic bubble to find that ducks in the wild don’t wear pants. The last thing we need is you offended, because a bird pooped on you, because it forgot to put on its pants.
Cancelling 100 years worth of children learning how to read with Dr. Seuss good call! Where are you going to be when your children learn how to read?! Where are you going to be when everything comes crashing down around you and people forget about you except the fact you cancelled every good thing in this world that people used as a tool to get over the string of bad things in their lives?
Cancelling Clifford the big red dog next huh? That show doesn’t promote steroid use. It shows kids how to love, no matter the size. It shows dogs are loyal, compassionate, understanding animals that we as humans, don’t deserve. This show is displaying vital key components that children need to understand in daily life to be successful. To build meaningful relationships with people so they are not left in the cold, fending solely for themselves. It teaches children how to treat their friends and animals alike. How about we take away those basic skills you formed? To see how well you fare now, oh wait, your generation Z. You don’t have those skills. Where are you going to be when you children can’t make friends, because they lack those skills?! You will sadly be your only child’s friend.
Back to Pepe Le Pew for just a minute, You say he display’s inappropriate behavior. Well heaven forbid you have children at all! Your partner is going to be offended by what they see with the lights on so yeah, you know lets just keep all that tucked in your pants! Let’s face it procreation is no fun if everyone who’s participating is offended. Which is why our population will ultimately end with all of you, because no one will dare to procreate due to it’s offensive nature!
My words are this stuff happens, its in the past, move on learn to do better and quit being offended by everything that goes on around you. There are many, many, many more thing’s I could touch on, but I’ve made my point. If I have offended you suck it up buttercup and move along! Learn from the past don’t cancel it, If it’s cancelled how can future generations if there are anymore learn how to do better?
