Chapter 1

OK. Here we go again 🤑Snoopy. I'm sorry I'm up and it's 3 AM. I know that you're tired. Because Lord knows that I'm tired. I feel like I haven't slept in days probably because I haven't had six hours of sleep since my surgery.

Let me start off by saying how 2020 was the worst year of my life! The city shut down in March 2020 and everyone had to stay inside and not have any company or go anywhere so I allow my son who had been asking for a dog for years to actually get a little puppy. And he named the puppy, Snoopy.

I had to quit work right after my birthday in November, because my entire right side shut down. When I say shut down, I mean from my head down to my toes. Nothing worked properly. And like some or most women who have a family to take care of and a job to go to constantly put things off and it hurts them in the end mean in their health. I had to quit work in order to get my health under control I did not know what was going on with my body because at first he started with my hands . Everyone including the doctors was thinking that it was carpal tunnel because I do a lot of riding at work or I could've been from loading my weapon or shooting a 38 in a 40 handgun. To stay in regulations with working at the prison. And I could not write any more at work. And God has a sense of humor because when my whole right side stopped working, so did my left hand. And I was ambidextrous. Isn't that ironic?

By the time my doctor had me set up with a specialist I had gotten worse. At my appointment was for carpal tunnel and the specialist was ready to operate on my wrist. She swore it was a muscle in my wrist and my nerves couldn't get through so she was scheduling me for surgery the next day But I complained and told her that a couple weeks ago it was just my handsmy fingers I couldn't right the symptoms were looking like carpal tunnel but now the pain and the weak arms and my legs and my gait what walk properly. I couldn't bend over to tie my shoes I couldn't get dressed on my own I had got severely worse And I have been telling her that I wanted to show her my x-rays from when I was going to the chiropractor and for my other appointments, no one would look at it because they were not bad doctors they were saying, but this particular day she was done with me ready to get me to have surgery and don't have to see me anymore but for some reason she said, let me look at her x-rays. Once she did, she immediately called my primary care doctor& she immediately got me authorized to see the brain and spine doctor because it was clear that my spine was pushing down on my spinal cord so then I had to go into emergency surgery on my spine C4 C5, C6 C7 was extremely damaged. That was the cause of the total cut off of any circulation in my right side. None of my nerves cause send information from my brain to the right side. Communication to my brain was cut off.

Coming from a woman who has worked different jobs at different times her life. From graduating high school in 1997, to going directly into the military hospital corpsman school & training with the Marines. Then, stationed on the USS Sacramento (a gas station ship) which was in Bremerton, Washington. Then, I went from working in the pharmacy at Walmart in Camden, South Carolina, to being a substitute teacher. And eventually opening my own Home daycare to raise my own children as a single mother, even though I was married. My estranged husband was out at sea all of the time. I wanted my children to at least have one parent all of the time since they cannot have him part of the time. Through the years with being married, then divorced, then married again, and divorced again, and still working and being physically active through all of my life's ups & downs. it was very hard to just do nothing. And not just to purposely do nothing but physically unable to do simple task like washing my body, brushing my teeth, brushing my hair. It was very hard relying on my left side of my body to do everything for both sides. The hardest most difficult thing for a woman who has always done everything - is to do nothing!
