Alice in Wilderness

Alice Morriston was a renowned hiker known for her adventurous spirit and deep connection to nature. Inspired by her parents, Morriston and Jane, who were also avid hikers, Alice found her passion early on. By the age of 20, she had already explored numerous hiking destinations, including the Swiss Alps, Grindelwald, Lauterbrunnen, Mount Fuji, and the Inca Trail.

One day, while watching a BBC documentary about deserted islands, Alice felt an irresistible urge to explore these remote and untouched locations. The idea of hiking on a deserted island captivated her imagination. She began her research, delving into the details of various islands such as Devon Island, Hawadax Island, Phoenix Island, and Auckland Islands. After thorough consideration, she narrowed her choices down to Phoenix Island and Auckland Island. Both islands intrigued her, but after a week of contemplation, she chose Phoenix Island.

Phoenix Island had a unique ecosystem and an abundance of exceptional marine life, which also posed significant hazards. But there was another, more personal reason for Alice's choice: Phoenix Island was the last place her parents had visited before they mysteriously disappeared. After walking for what felt like an eternity, she found an inscription on a stone: "For Alice Morriston." She moved the stone aside, revealing a recorder and a cassette tape. Trembling, she played the tape and heard her parents' voices. They urged her to live a good life without them and sang her favorite lullaby. Overcome with emotion, Alice cried, holding the recorder close.

Emerging from the cave, Alice felt a sense of closure. She made her way back to the shore, where she had prepared a boat for her departure. Navigating out of the dangerous waters, she eventually spotted a larger vessel that took her back to civilization.
