On one weekend, I got word to go on an adventure to the rain forest the next morning. I incidentally dragged along my knowledgeable dad and my curious naughty brother. We spent the night preparing a lot of equipment: compass, tent, flashlight, food, and water.
Finally, we set off, and at 1:00 a.m., our car headed for the airport. We got on the plane at 1:30 and then the car drove around and around and we arrived at the rainforest. We kept walking aimlessly north in the rain forest. After a while, my brother got down on the ground and seemed to be looking for something, when he suddenly stood up, holding some colorful mushrooms in his hand. My brother asked, "Can I eat these mushrooms?" I screamed, "Don't eat it, this mushroom is poisonous, this colorful color is called alert color, there is a poisonous frog named sword poison frog in the rainforest, it is covered with poison glands, it has a very beautiful pattern, but behind this beautiful pattern is very poisonous, so the next time you come across this color, be careful." My brother shrieked and was so scared that the mushrooms fell to the ground.
We continued on our way, "Ah, there's a snake!" My brother shouted again and my dad said, "Don't move, it's a cobra. It is often found in the tropical rainforest, snakes are not very sensitive to stationary objects, the focus of the snake's eyes is not by changing the shape of the lens, but by moving the lens forward or backward to achieve, and this is a cobra, it is poisonous, its color is bright, surrounded by red, black, white or yellow stripes, these are its warning colors, cobra venom is very powerful and once bitten, it will quickly attack, you should be careful. You have to be careful!" My brother was already shivering." Shh!" The brother did not dare to come out of the air, the scene was frozen for about 15 seconds! The snake slowly crawled away as if it did not see the brother. The brother was so relieved that he almost collapsed on the ground.
After this big test, we planned to rest on the spot, anyway, it was close to evening. At this point, we intended to eat a little cookie chocolate to replenish energy, open the backpack, found that the cookies are gone, most of the food is eaten up, and only a little bit of water left." Bad, we have no water to drink," I shouted.
Once we interrogated, we realized that most of the food and water had been eaten and drunk by my brother on the road. The brother lowered his head in shame and turned red. At this point, W calmly said: "Fortunately, I have long expected this situation, I have long been prepared. Let's go to the creek first, I have my way". We set out on a journey to find water. There were many exotic flowers and plants along the way, typical tropical evergreen trees in the rainforest, deciduous broad-leaved trees, and so on. But we did not have time to enjoy the beauty of these, we worked hard for half an hour and finally found a small stream. We filled some water with empty bottles, and then it was time for W to perform. He first picked up the empty bottle with a needle to poke a few small holes in the cap, cut off the bottom of the mineral water bottle, cover the cork, then stuffed it with cotton or cloth, etc., compacted, he took out some small fine sand, cotton, cloth, and some activated carbon, he put the activated carbon on the cotton layer and cloth and then lay the fine sand on the activated carbon. Finally, he put some small rocks of even size on the sand layer, a small filter, and it was done. We filtered so much water that we just waited and boiled it with fire to drink.
It was almost evening, so we rushed to find some firewood and wood to build a campfire table. We lit the fire. Fixed the hot kettle on the fire, took the water that was filtered before, and poured it inside the pot. After a little while, we got several bottles of filtered water. We set up another tent, we ate all the food, got inside, the tent, and slept peacefully. The giant mosquitoes were flying outside the tent and we felt a rare sense of peace and security at this moment.
