Dear Amy

You were twenty years old when I met you. That was twenty four years ago. I was forty five then, and I am sixty nine now.

Out of the five daughter in-laws, I have had in my life with my two sons, you are the only one that stuck around.

I want to thank you.

You put up with my son, and I know that was not easy. I love him but I know that was not an easy feat on any given day.

I want to thank you.

Our relationship was not perfect, and I know that. I admit that, but I do cherish the memories. They are memories that I will take with me beyond this life time.

I want to thank you.

I would like to tell you that I appreciate you, and what you have bought into my life, and into my wife's life as well. I would also like to share with you some of my favorite memories.

I think my most very favorite memory was of you sitting in my living room. My wife, your mother in-law was playing the guitar and singing. I can remember you saying, "That one was a foot stomper".

I remember you listened with enjoyment, and whether you really enjoyed the ride, I have no idea. However, you made her feel good, in fact you made everyone in the room feel good with your smile and how you reacted with enjoyment, and that was pure "Amy Mode". It was what you always did so eloquently.

There were many more memories, but that one is the one that was always my favorite.

I want to thank you.

My greatest thank you to you and I will thank you a million times over for the greatest gift you could have given me and my wife, and that is the gift of my beautiful Grandchildren, Smiley and Rosebud. They are the two greatest gifts either of us, myself or my wife, have ever gotten from anyone.

I want to thank you.

This is a thank you from my wife and your mother in-law, for she wants to thank you personally.

I had to include this in my letter to you, a personal thank you to you Amy from your mother in-law. I know it is not a popular thing in our society today, for a mother in-law to love and appreciate her daughter in-law. However, Amy that shows you how very special you are and how lucky we are to have had you enter our lives. You will be appreciated, long after we both leave this world, and I truly am grateful for you being in our lives.

As A Mother Myself

I acknowledge that you gave that gift to me, from the labor pains to the cesarean sections, I know that the gift of my Grandchildren would not have been possible without you. They are a treasure to us, and their young faces, are what we see when we want to smile.

They are our link to the future, and we are their link to the past. I am hoping that through our love and support they will make a better future, and I have no doubt they will change the world for the better. I have so much faith in your children - our Grandchildren.

I want to thank you, for bringing them into the world.

My Gratitude over the years, through bad times and good and with that many years behind us, there were plenty of both, I want you to know that we love you sweet Amy.

I Want To Thank You For Everything

Love Greg (Your Father In-law and Susan (Your Mother In-Law)
