A Speech from a prince to his people concerning his relationship with love.
lost in love

There was amusement and excitement in the kingdom where the prince resided, one may ask what was the cause . It was love they said ; " The prince is looking for love." There were chants, praises, celebrations and preparation for an occasion that was yet to happen. During this time and period the prince had a lot of observations , he decided to give a speech. Calling all of his kingdom to attendance , he begins his speech ;
Lost in love
Lost at sight
I blame it on the heart
I blame it on the mind
They say love is a good feeling
I think otherwise, it is safe to say love is dependent
Yeah, many ambiguous factors in the word “Love”
Love comes with strings and needs
Love is fragile and easily affected by the unseen.
Then I ask, what type of love is it that leaves our world in such a state of stimulation?
Is it the Romantic love that is publicized?
The love that leaves you in an unbearable state or in a feeling of illusions ?
My answers produced a new set of questions
I had fooled myself that I would only be complete once I had found such love
The perfect word to describe my relationship with “Love” would be "Mystery". It is beyond what the mind can comprehend .
My transition from wanting love to avoiding it is quite swift and unstable
Is there a deception around it or have I just not found it?
Is love supposed to feel the same way for everyone?
That is the thought that comes to mind when I hear someone say “he loves her, she loves him too”.
How do you know that, does the essence of love come with general attributes?
Is it based on convention, tradition, belief or norm?
I do not know. I still seek after an apt restriction of love.
In ancient time, love was just an absolute care and devotion towards someone or something.
But this contemporary time we live in now, “love” is like a firmly grounded tree with lots of branches; bearing a variety of fruit. Yes.
The origin of love is not romance, it is creation.
That is why it is said that the greatest love is that of a mother.
We tend to cherish things more when it is a part of us or when it grows with us
But then an uninformed critic would say; “does the process of creation not involve romance”
My response is; “not necessarily, creation is a result of need most of the time.”
We also have to understand that not everyone is brought up under the same circumstances nor is headed towards the same direction in life.
Therefore the word “love” gives a different meaning to everyone who has come in contact or believes to have come in contact with it.
Is it not safe to say that not everyone has the same love language?
I had an encounter with “the man in red”, he was talking to an audience and he described “love” in an enthusiastic yet personifying manner.
He faced the crowd and said; “love is as sweet as honey straight from the beehive.”
A hot tempered, bold and short man wearing a green polo shirt then replied (shouting on top of his voice)
He said; “lies, I tell you, flat out lies, I repeat.”
I cringed and I sighed knowing that I myself wanted the love that was as sweet as honey, but the man in green sounded realistic and that was all it took for me to take his word for what it was , which was the truth in my ears at the time.
I fear I turn from a hopeless romantic to a man who is inconsiderate of people and their feelings
I looked for balance, I asked for a path from the lord but no answer.
I had to choose a path that would seat right with me.
However my people I choose to love, not in the fairytale manner that the world praises but in a way that the heart and soul know it.
I choose love as a lifestyle. For me life is love, love is life. Love and life are like Siamese twins, they are in-separable.
I choose to share when I have more and give to the needy when they have less
To the lady of my past, forgive me if I never noticed you or treated you as though you were an object. Blame it on my quest for a perfect love. Unblemished.
To the lady of my future, I promise to respect you and treat you with care, but to love you with all my heart as the fairytales suppose is a suicidal mission for me , I cannot promise nor put a stamp on that.
But who knows what the future holds. Today, the stage is set. Take up the challenge together, we shall give love its true meaning and value.
