A post-85 take-out boy about an ideal career

"Put on the blue overalls, put on the helmet, and ride the battery car." While his teammates were heading home, Li Sai stayed behind to become a "knight" for another day, just two days before the 2017 Chinese New Year. Li Sai said he would take his last shift in Shanghai before returning to his hometown in Hebei province.
Shanghai Road Map
Six months ago, Li Sai came to Shanghai under the introduction of a friend and worked as a food delivery man. Before that, he graduated from a Beijing college with a degree in Eastern and Western philosophy and worked as a real estate salesman, a piano salesman, and a bank credit card information checker.
Born in 1987, Li Sai is a big brother in terms of age, but in terms of seniority, he is a rookie in the field of knights. Where is the restaurant, which location is it delivered to, should I turn left or right, and why can't I find the door number when I get to the destination? As a stranger, Li Sai remembers delivering only 10 meals on his first day, each of which took at least an hour.
However, half a year has passed, and Li Sai's most successful business day is 50 to 60 orders, with each order arriving as soon as five minutes. Why did Li Sai get promoted so fast? The secret, he says, is knowing the terrain and knowing the restaurant. "I am in charge of delivering food within three kilometers of the North-South Viaduct, Yan 'a Viaduct, and Zhaojiabang Road. There are a lot of small streets and alleyways here, so it is not possible to just take the main road, not to mention the long detour, many of them do not have lanes, so we have to recognize the small roads and run every day, which is almost a living map of this area."
"There is too and the restaurant booked in advance, the route should also be reasonable planning, to take, take can walk, walk also walk clever," Li said.
300 bucks would be nice
In Li Sai's words, the job of a food deliverer is not a very decent job due to the low threshold, and it is also a high-risk job because the family does not agree with it. Driving a battery car around the street every day, there are often small bumps and bruises, especially on rainy days, when the order volume is large and the orders are concentrated, and customers are pressing hard.
One rainy evening, Li Sai suddenly connected to five or six orders of business, but because the car did not stop, the food truck containing bread, husband and wife lung slices, and other food fell over, all kinds of food mixed into a "paste".
Anxious, Li Sai thought that the customers would not be happy, so he carefully called them to apologize. However, to Lisai's surprise, "The car is upside down. Is everyone okay? Do you want to go to the hospital?" Most of the customers were concerned about Lisai's safety.
Lisai was a little overwhelmed, but he was greatly comforted. "I compensated the customer about 300 yuan, but I was very happy that day, that feeling of being respected, psychologically warm."
Customers give Li Sai warmth, and Li Sai also reciprocated, when bad weather, flat tire, and other temporary conditions, unable to deliver food on time, Li Sai would buy a cup of milk tea as "compensation". He always said that what he did was service work, and if he didn't do it well, it was his fault, and I was sorry.
A dream job
Li Sai's good attitude comes from his ideal. It turns out that Li Sai, who does not talk much, is also a spontaneous cycling enthusiast. On weekdays, he would ride his road bike to the outer suburbs for more than 200 kilometers, often from his hometown in Hebei province to Qingdao in Shandong Province.
Li Sai says he has two ambitions: one is to start a biking business and the other is to open a restaurant. The only job that can combine daily cycling with a restaurant is food delivery.
For Li Sai, this job is a kind of training, although it is hard, it can hone their attitude, which will be good for future business. "After all, my foundation is not solid, not ready," Li said.
