A New Beginning!

As the sun slowly set over the small town of Millfield, Indiana, Maria sat on the porch of her family's farm, staring out into the fields. She had just finished her chores for the day and was trying to take in the beauty of the moment. But her mind was elsewhere. She had just received a letter from her boyfriend, saying that he had decided to join the army and was leaving for basic training the next day. Maria was heartbroken.
