A heartfelt letter to someone who has impacted my life
Celebrating the Art of Thankfulness

Author: Dream Books Sanjeevi
Dear Writers,
In this period of the year people make me stop and think about how I can make their lives better off. You are ray of hope, encouragement and inspiration in the middle of the storm. I was determined to use this opportunity to thank each of you from the bottom of my heart and to share the role you’ve played in my life.
Since the day I first met you, you did not let me experience even one moment of cold-heartedness. I can only say thank you for being able to listen to me without prejudice or trying to fix me when I didn’t know how to fix myself during difficult moments in my life. Your encouraging words when I had a really bad day in school, or you foolish giggles that made me remember to be happy and find some humor in even the dullest of days, have made the value of my days impressive.
It is something I can still recall the day I was in deep thoughts on whether to continue pursuing my dreams. Subconsciously, you showed me your weakness and achievements as you said that nothing that you overcome cannot lead to something bigger. I appreciated your candidness as well you made me realise it is okay to be a work in progress-focused on progress not perfection. All these changes in my awareness has been very helpful in helping me be strong each time I face the world for life.
This is something that has struck me most about you as you have served with so much humility, sharing your time and talent. You have invested yourself in our interaction whether it was on how to manage a difficult project or to join me in my success stories. Your loyalty I have learned the definition of a good friend one that cares for you and the other person and has respect for each other.
After thinking it through in my life I come to understand that it is people out there such as yourself that consistently mold our experiences as well as feed our spirits. Not only have you changed my life, but also helped me to become a person as I want to treat everyone. There was much for me to learn from you and I am grateful for lessons these included – courtesy, hard work, and thankfulness –lessons I would not wish others to miss out on.
As we move ahead to embrace all the joy that this season of thanksgiving has to offer, I want to take a moment to thank you for being you. I just wanted to say thank you for all the ways you’ve helped me and been there for me. Thank you for the joy, for the sense you’ve given me, for believing in me. I really want to thank you for the opportunity to learn from you.
I would attempt to extend those roles that you have embodied in my life in order that I might embody them in the lives of other people while we both journey on. But in what other way should we not forget to do that and not only today as we give thanks for so much?
With love, thank you for yours.
Love.
