A fictional tale about the worst, most horrific holiday imaginable. Just be glad this haunted cabin in Scotland doesn't actually exist, or does it?
Going on holiday should be a fun time, you get away from your everyday life and go somewhere beautiful, far away from all the stresses of work and daily chores. It is supposed to be a time where the family get together and play games, tell stories and make new memories. Where you visit the beach, iconic landmarks and take photos to show everyone at home how amazing your trip was.
Unfortunately for some people however, things don't always go according to plan. For many people, holidays can be overly expensive and not worth the price! Not to mention the nightmares of airport security, or travelling from one part of the country to the other by car or bus. The world doesn't care if rush hour traffic makes you late for your vacation, it doesn't stop raining just because you're going somewhere nice for the weekend. Sometimes holidays can be a bumpy ride, where you either ride it out and hope for the best, or give up and return home. For many people, a bad holiday is just an ear ache, but there are some terrifying cases where a holiday can end in nothing but misery and horror!
A group of friends from university, all thought it would be fun to meet up again after graduation and have a wild holiday, full of parties at a remote woodland spot in the middle of Scotland's countryside. The cabin they would be staying in, was a beautiful oak building, which stood beside a waterfall and river, looking like something out of a fairytale. Frank, the host of this holiday, thought it would make for a great spot to end the year with his closest friends, all of which had successfully graduated and were ready to live the rest of their lives in good spirits.
Everyone arrived at the cabin on Friday the 13th of August, 2018. It was a beautiful sunny day and the scenery was golden with the summer sun shining down upon them. Birds sang in the forest and the river's stream was a wonder to hear. Frank was beyond thrilled to see that everything looked as described, everyone else was happy to be here too. There were a total of five people who came on this holiday. Frank and his fiancé named Rebecca, his best friend John, Elizabeth (who was John's girlfriend) and Jessica who was Elizabeth's twin sister. Frank and John used to laugh over how identical the two of them looked, they both got the two confused very often. It became clear who was who though, as Elizabeth was a book worm, while Jessica was a party animal. Frank always found it odd that John chose Elizabeth, because she was the shy and quiet one. Jessica had a bad habit of dating multiple men at once though, so maybe that's why he chose her instead. Frank and John had known each other since before they went to university, practically growing up together like brothers. Rebecca was very comfortable with the group too, for she had known Frank since day one and was in class with the others throughout the many years at the university, she was a very funny woman who often made jokes. They were a well formed group of friends, who knew each other better than anyone. Already, this holiday seemed like a dream come true, nobody was arguing, everyone was happy and ready to enjoy the summer. Only, it wouldn't last long before horror showed its ugly face.
That night, while everyone slept, a loud howling was heard outside. At first, they all ignored the wolves barks, but the noise grew louder and louder and closer and closer, until the mad animals were outside the cabin. Jessica was the first to awake, despite being drunk from the party they just had. She looked out the window and saw the wild wolves, dancing around maniacally outside in the full moonlight.
"Doggies!" She laughed, pointing at them. Elizabeth would've been awoken by this, if she was in the same bedroom, but she was asleep with John instead. In her drunken state, she decided to walk outside and "pet the cute puppies" as she called them, only to get jumped instead. The wolves began gnawing at her tender flesh, the poor woman was wearing nothing but her underwear, so they had full access to her bare legs and were feasting right away. Jessica screamed louder than she thought possible and sobered up immediately. Everyone else ran outside and were horrified to see so many wolves surrounding them. Elizabeth raced towards her sister, but she too was quickly overwhelmed and eaten alive just like her sister. Both twins were now dead and the other three fled to their car. A wolf jumped up to bite Rebecca, but Frank punched the animal out cold. Then two more gathered around them and pulled John to the ground.
"Brother!" Frank cried, reaching out to him.
"Get to the car!" John ordered, as he was dragged away by three wolves. John and Rebecca couldn't count how many wolves there were now, the number was increasing by the second.
"You got the keys?!" She screamed. Frank rummaged through his pockets and cried.
"What?!" She roared.
"They're in the cabin!"
"Oh god!" She gasped.
"Quick, get inside!" He yelled, returning to the cabin, pushing her back into the building, as wolves clawed at his back. He slammed the door shut in front of him, making sure Rebecca was safe while the wolves outside tore him to shreds. She wanted to go out there and save him, but even in her terrified state, she knew that was suicide. So she just sat and cried, leaning against the door to prevent it from opening. As the sounds of John and Frank's screams faded into silence.
Eventually the wolves fled, leaving the scene entirely. Rebecca grabbed the keys that were left in the bedside drawer and fled the cabin. She was greeted by the sight of blood, gore and rags thrown around the place. She cried and puked, knowing who these gory remains belonged to. Her late fiancé and best friends, were now nothing but grotesque pieces of devoured flesh. She got into the car, put it in drive and fled Scotland, never to return and that was the worst holiday she had ever been on in her life.
