The Courtroom (pexels.com)

We are all facing front as good little children do when the teacher says, "Faces front, class." But this is not school, and we are no longer in school sitting in neat rows or in small groups we are standing in a courtroom waiting to hear our destinies. We all have done various things that we have thought was thoughtless or cruel to one another, but who would ever think that it would actually catch up with us one day.

What darkness could a person who became a teacher, a nurse or even a counselor be afraid of if it ever came out. For a teacher, who may never think of hurting not even a fly could have something so dark about them. The same goes about those who became nurses and promising TO DO NO HARM! to anyone for that also goes for the counselors who promise the same thing. What have they all done?

These three professionals have all decreed that their lives were to be ones of helping others in some way or ways. When one is presented with a problem or an issue that comes from children, parents, husbands and wives and whomever else that was or could have been affected by such an issue these people were supposed to put aside what they had to love with and think about how I help my client or clients. Did they really put aside their personal thought while helping?

The teacher was sitting a small table preparing an activity when a certain student came up to them and stating, "Why does everyone always seem to make fun of me or make faces at me?" The teacher just sits there with a blank look. This teacher for some reason told this child out right why they make fun of this student. You know have you looked in a mirror at yourself. This teacher does know that this child is a very poor student, and the parents are trying their best to provide for their child, but it seems that things seem to get neglected and the child is now going to see the he is the neglected one for his clothes seems not to match even though they are clean, and maybe he doesn't always have a lunch to eat and may beg for something to eat from his friends, but is that an reason to make fun of his student. The darkness that this teacher feels is that they did not even try to help this child for maybe it brought back to many bad memories, but not for this teacher for they thought that no matter of age one should be able to help oneself to do what is needed. The teacher just told the child to go back to your seat and finish your work. This is one frightful teacher.

As a nurse who is supposed to be caring and nurturing in time of sickness for various people of all kinds. This nurse's darkness prevails from a feeling that why should I make sure this one patient who came in with numerous scars and sores and whatnot seems to be tearful and crying and asking why the Lord has done this to them. What is a nurse to do for we also have our own issues and problems to work throw. The darkness this nurse feels is one where they think why should I make sure this person feels better for they are the one that in some way caused this to happen to them. Why is it that people think that nurses are supposed to know how to help. This nurse's darkness is that they did not really know what to do in this situation presented, but to treat this patient like she didn't exist. When the patient used the call bell they would ask someone else to go to the patient.

As a counselor one seems to think of us as teachers and even nurses for we are all helpers and must help no matter what the problem or issue may be for the student/child, patient or clients/clients should be. The counselor's darkness is the thought "How do I help myself to cope when I am helping others cope with all that they are dealing with like the teacher's feeling about the student being made fun of or the nurse not wanting to deal with that particular yet peculiar patient with the sores and scars who was probably beaten, but the nurse was afraid that their past would come back to harm them if they helped this patient. The counselor's darkness comes from not being able to offer choices for those who need them.

All of these professionals have a darkness in them and at times should they all come together what do you think will appear as if a big black cloud with a strange yet scary face telling them "You did the right thing, sorry you do not feel that way, but those people needed to learn in their own way and means. That face is still with these professionals for these three have to face this dark cloud to hopefully see the light that is behind it whether it be bad or good for if one thinks about it as these three professionals should have seen when they were presented and should have seen various solutions for their student, patient and client they ignored them and went about their businesses. Did these three of hope or were they so far into their own darkness within that they could only see darkness and so being not able to help when needed. One needs to be able to see what one is made up of in order to help others in various ways as teaching, nursing and counseling. Did their darkness come with them for there was no willing to help them when they needed someone to help?

Who or what was this darkness for them to face or are they still dealing with the darkness within?
