Whisper from the tunnel: The legend of the ghost train
Journey to the unknown

Once upon a time, in a small town nestled between the mountains, there was a railway track that passed through it. The railway was built many years ago and was no longer in use as trains stopped running on that track years ago. However, the track was still there, and it had become a popular spot for adventure-seeking youths who loved to explore abandoned places.
The railway track passed through a dense forest, and at the end of the track was a tunnel that was over a mile long. The tunnel had no light inside, and it was pitch dark. No one knew why the tunnel was built, and nobody ever dared go inside.
One evening, a group of young men decided to explore the tunnel. They walked along the railway track with their flashlights and approached the entrance of the tunnel. As they were about to enter the tunnel, they heard a loud sound that resembled a train whistle. They looked around but could not see anything.
The group continued to walk into the tunnel, but they soon realised that something was wrong. The sound of the train whistle grew louder and louder, and they began to feel the ground tremble. Suddenly, they saw a light in the distance, and it was getting closer and closer.
The group was terrified, and they began to run back towards the entrance of the tunnel. But it was too late. The train had already entered the tunnel, and it was coming towards them at full speed. The group could feel the wind created by the train as it sped past them.
As they watched the train disappear into the darkness of the tunnel, they realised that it was not a normal train. It was a ghost train. The young men had heard stories about the ghost train before, but they had never believed them until now.
The next day, the news of the ghost train spread throughout the town, and people started talking about it. Many people believed that the train was carrying the souls of the dead, and it only appeared at night to take new souls with it.
Some people claimed to have seen the ghost train passing through the town at night, and they said that it was always the same train that passed through the tunnel. It was an old-fashioned train, with carriages that had been painted black.
As the days went by, more and more people began to believe in the ghost train, and some even claimed to have seen the ghosts of the passengers inside the carriages.
One night, a group of teenagers decided to go to the tunnel and wait for the ghost train to appear. They sat in the darkness, waiting patiently for the train to arrive. Suddenly, they heard the sound of the train whistle, and they saw the light of the train in the distance.
The teenagers were scared, but they did not run away this time. They wanted to see the ghost train up close. As the train approached them, they saw that it was just as they had been told. An old-fashioned train, with carriages, painted black.
The teenagers could see the faces of the passengers in the carriages, and they were all staring at them with empty eyes. The train passed them, and they felt the wind created by it, just as the group had the previous night.
From that day on, the ghost train became a popular topic among the town's people. Some people feared it, while others were fascinated by it. People started coming from neighbouring towns to see the ghost train, and it became a tourist attraction.
However, nobody ever went near the tunnel at night again, and people made sure that they were far away from the railway track when darkness fell. The ghost train remained a mystery, and nobody ever found out why it appeared or what it carried.
The railway track and the tunnel still exist, and the ghost train still appears occasionally. The people of the town have accepted the presence of the ghost train, and they tell stories about it to their children and grandchildren. Some people even believe that the ghost train is a warning of some kind, a reminder of a tragedy that happened many years ago.
One day, an old man who had lived in the town all his life approached a group of children who were talking excitedly about the ghost train. He listened to them for a while and then told them a story.
He told them that many years ago, a train had derailed in the tunnel, killing all the passengers on board. The train had been carrying workers who were building the railway track, and their families were waiting for them at the station.
The families had waited and waited, but the train never arrived. When they went to look for the train, they found it derailed in the tunnel, with all the passengers dead. The families were devastated, and the tragedy had a profound effect on the town.
The old man told the children that he had been a young boy when the tragedy happened, and he had seen the ghost train for the first time shortly after that. He said that he had never forgotten the sight of the train, and it had haunted him all his life.
The children listened to the old man's story in silence, and when he finished, they thanked him for telling them. As they walked away, they looked back at the old man, who was still staring at the tunnel.
Years passed, and the old man passed away, but the legend of the ghost train remained. People continued to see it from time to time, and it remained a mystery to all who saw it.
The railway track and the tunnel still exist, but they have become overgrown with vegetation, and nobody uses them anymore. However, the memory of the ghost train lives on, and it continues to fascinate people of all ages.
Today, if you visit the town and ask the locals about the ghost train, they will tell you the same story that has been passed down through the generations. They will tell you that the train is a reminder of a tragedy that happened many years ago, and that it is a warning to all who hear its whistle.
So, if you ever find yourself in town, and you hear the sound of a train whistle in the distance, be careful. It may just be the ghost train, and it may be coming to take you with it on its journey into the unknown.
