"No One Escapes the Neptune Queen"

By KiloPublished about a year ago 5 min read

The Beginning of the Adventure

Ryan stood at the dock, staring up at the enormous vessel in front of him. The Neptune Queen, they called it. An all-expenses-paid cruise trip—five nights, six days, pure luxury. The kind of thing that only happened in dreams or after winning a lottery. Well, they had won.

“Hey, this is going to be legendary!” Eli called, throwing an arm around Ryan’s shoulders.

The others—Sophia, Mia, and Jake—were close behind. Their excitement buzzed like electricity in the air, but Sophia hesitated at the bottom of the gangplank.

“I don’t like this,” she muttered, eyeing the ship’s towering figure. “Something feels… wrong.”

Ryan waved her concern away. “You’ve been watching too many horror movies. It’s just a cruise. Relax, will you?”

Sophia sighed but followed them onboard. From the moment they stepped on the ship, she couldn’t shake the feeling that something was terribly off. The crew, dressed in formal uniforms, greeted them with wide, unnatural smiles. The passengers they passed seemed distant, staring into space or avoiding eye contact entirely.

Inside, the ship looked like it had been frozen in time. Crystal chandeliers hung from the ceiling, and the decor was an eerie mix of modern luxury and old-world elegance. They were led to their rooms, which were vast and immaculate, but the hallways seemed unnervingly long. The numbers on the doors were scratched, some missing entirely.

Ryan dismissed it all. “It’s probably just part of the ship’s charm.”

Sophia didn’t answer. In the reflection of a nearby mirror, she swore she saw a shadow dart behind her. She turned quickly, but nothing was there.

Day 1 – The First Night

That evening, they gathered for dinner in the grand dining hall. The room was beautifully lit, with a massive chandelier casting a soft glow over the tables. The meal was exquisite—lobster, caviar, and wine that flowed endlessly. They toasted to their good fortune, but Sophia couldn’t relax. The other passengers still didn’t speak, barely touched their food. They seemed pale, almost sickly, but no one else seemed to notice.

“Lighten up, Soph,” Eli teased. “You’re not gonna let some creepy vibes ruin our trip, are you?”

“I just have a bad feeling,” Sophia replied, glancing at the other tables. “Something’s wrong here.”

Ryan laughed. “You’re too paranoid. Let’s just enjoy ourselves.”

But when Ryan excused himself to use the restroom, something strange happened. He passed a tall antique mirror hanging in the hallway, and out of the corner of his eye, he saw his reflection. It was him, but it wasn’t—his face was contorted in a terrifying grin, blood dripping from his hands.

He blinked, his heart pounding, but when he looked again, the image was gone.

Day 2 – The First Disappearance

The next day, the ship’s luxurious amenities distracted them for a while—sunbathing on deck, sipping cocktails by the pool, enjoying the bars and the spa. But something about the ship seemed off. Mia noticed strange symbols carved into the railings and walls, like ancient runes or scratches left by something trying to escape.

Later, Eli convinced Mia to explore the lower decks with him, sneaking past a door marked “Restricted.” Inside, they found a decayed, abandoned ballroom. Dust covered the furniture, and the air was thick with the smell of rot. Mia wanted to leave, but Eli was fascinated by the eerie atmosphere.

That night, as the group gathered for drinks, Eli didn’t show up. At first, they thought it was another one of his pranks, but after an hour of waiting, they grew worried.

They searched the ship, calling his name, but there was no sign of him. Eventually, they found his phone lying near the railing, its screen cracked. There was only one photo on it—an image of Eli, wide-eyed with terror, a shadowy figure looming behind him.

Panic set in. Ryan tried to keep calm, but Sophia knew something was terribly wrong. The ship was hiding something, and Eli was gone.

The Horrors Unfold

That night, their dreams were nightmares. Ryan dreamed of drowning, dragged beneath the dark ocean by cold, pale hands. Sophia’s nightmare was worse—she saw herself trapped inside a mirror, watching helplessly as her reflection moved on its own, its eyes hollow and dead. Mia dreamed of the ship’s hallways filled with skeletons, their hollow eyes staring as she walked past.

When they woke, the ship had changed. Hallways stretched impossibly long, leading into shadows. Doors that once led to cabins opened into dark voids, and the air felt thick, suffocating.

Mia was the next to disappear. One moment, she was with them; the next, she was gone, swallowed by the ship. Her last scream echoed through the walls as Ryan and Sophia frantically searched for her, only to find dead ends and twisting corridors.

In desperation, Ryan and Sophia broke into the captain’s quarters, hoping to find answers. Inside, they found the captain—a corpse, decaying in his chair, his bony hands still gripping the wheel.

An old journal lay on the desk, revealing the ship’s dark past. The Neptune Queen had been cursed decades ago, when a mutiny led to the deaths of the entire crew. The ship had since been sailing the seas, trapping the souls of its passengers, feeding off their fears and consuming them one by one.

The Final Descent

With this horrifying realization, Ryan and Sophia knew they had little time. The ship began to actively hunt them—the walls oozed with black water, the floors tilted violently, and ghostly figures emerged from the shadows, their eyes empty, their mouths open in silent screams.

Ryan, in a desperate attempt to destroy the ship, found the engine room. But what he found wasn’t a machine—it was alive. The engine pulsed with dark energy, feeding on the souls of the dead. Ryan fought to destroy it, but the darkness consumed him, dragging him into the abyss.

Sophia was the last one left. She made her way to the deck, trying to jump into the ocean, but the water had transformed into a swirling black void. The ship wouldn’t let her go. As the shadows closed in on her, she heard the distant sound of a horn. New passengers were boarding.

The Eternal Loop

As the ship docked at a new port, a fresh group of excited passengers boarded. The sun was shining, and everything seemed normal. Among the crew stood Sophia, her face pale and her eyes hollow. She watched them, unable to warn them, her soul now part of the ship.

And so the Neptune Queen sailed again, forever hungry, forever hunting.
