Ultimate Halloween Playlist 2021

My favorite time of year deserves an amazing playlist!

Halloween has been my favorite time of year since I was a child. I was always pretty odd and loved the spookier side of things. I loved werewolves and vampires and ghosts, and I actually used to sit and watch the different paranormal investigator shows with my mother, who encouraged me to be odd.

In middle school and high school I upgraded myself to the weird emo kid who was obsessed with all things creepy. I wanted to be the next Marilyn Manson, the next Ozzy Osbourne, the next Rob Zombie. I wanted to be known for being spooky. I've never grown out of that either. I'm in my twenties now, but I have never grown out of my quote en quote "emo" phase, but now, instead of smearing black makeup all over my face, I apply it carefully with expensive brushes. My wardrobe is entirely black, my makeup is all dark, and I have personally decided that I own Halloween. It's mine.

I still listen to a lot of the same music that I used to listen to as well! Most of these songs came off of my personal everyday playlist! So, naturally, this challenge spoke to my horror loving soul, and I'm in love with what I created!

This here is my Ultimate Halloween Playlist, filled with song after song that my friends and I used to dance to and belt at the top of our lungs. It starts out with a banger, Time Warp from The Rocky Horror Picture Show, as it should. Then we get into a dubstep haunted house themed song that a friend showed me, which is perfect to listen to even as just spooky background noise for dubstep fans.

This playlist is filled with party songs like DONTTRUSTME by 3OH!3, Superstition by the wonderful Stevie Wonder, Hex Girl by the Hex Girls (you know, the spooky Eco-Goths from Scooby Doo who were every goth girl's role models?), and a few different versions of This is Halloween because you can't go wrong with a classic.

It also has songs for the classic rock/metal fans such as Living Dead Girl and Dragula by the Hellbilly King, Mr Rob Zombie, and some songs from Ozzy Osbourne and Marilyn Manson. There are a few covers of some classic rock songs like Immigrant Song, my favorite cover of Under Pressure and a few others!

Then of course, you can't go wrong with some throwback emo classics like music from My Chemical Romance, because come on.

I'm so excited to share this playlist because my taste in music is so all over the place and there's just a wide variety here! You have the classics of course, but also some new songs that I've personally never seen on a Halloween playlist before! It's spooky, it's festive, it's funky, it's all that you need in a playlist.

I definitely think this is the ultimate playlist because of the variety I have. Everything here could work for a party. The songs are upbeat and easy to dance to, but also if you just want to vibe under the moon and drink some spiced cider, it's also perfect for that! The classic songs will stand out to some of the older fans, and some of the newer songs will stick out to the younger generation, but then there's some songs which everyone should know, and it'll make everyone happy!

I'm very, very proud of this and once again, I hope that everyone enjoys! I took this one pretty seriously; I had hand written notes and song lists, I had my roommates give me suggestions, I wanted this to be absolutely perfect. The process was fun! Putting this playlist together put me in a Halloween mood, and I only want to watch Hocus Pocus and Halloweentown while I carve pumpkins. Brb.
