401. Hearing a hissing sound from one of his back tires, Rubert squatted down to inspect the damage. With lightning speed a scaly appendage shot out of the wheel well and wrapped around Rubert's throat.

402. "Hello," I said as the door to my personal space opened. The human's fearful expression was priceless as I pulled myself out of the small chest that had been my prison for far to long.

403. Picking up a bag of chips, I start feeling the contents to see if it's a good bag. From inside the bag I feel a hand press outward against my palm.

404. Seeing her reflection in the window Karen shut off her bedroom light. The figure in the window remained; an evil grin spreading across its face.

405. Mash potatoes go well with anything. They are the ultimate side; their flavor completes fried chicken, they give substance to hamburger, their creamy texture is the perfect contrast to human liver, and they make baked fish a hardy meal.

406. A paper airplane flies through my window bearing the message, "Hey neighbor." I live in the building's penthouse.

407. Sleepily shuffling to the toilet I lift the lid and pull down my pants. A hand oozing with sores shoots out of the porcelain bowl, grabs me and pulls me down.

408. I learned that the most active member of my discord wasn't who I thought they were. According to their obituary they've been dead for fifteen years.

409. "It was a dark and stormy night," shaking my head, I deleted the sentence, "No, too cliche." Turning to tonight's victim, who was struggling against their bonds, I asked, "Any preference for how you die?"

410. The New Horizon Probe gave us our first images of Pluto. The spacecraft also discovered other intelligent life in the solar system by being shot down.

411. Getting a drink of water I soon felt my pet cat, Lucky, curl around my leg and start licking my shin. Glancing to the hallway I spotted Lucky's mangled body; the licking turned to biting.

412. "Knock... knock," I said, practicing my routine in front of the mirror. I started to scream when my reflection answered, "Who's there?"

413. Having worked in the deli for over a decade, Standley's customers often asked him, "You ever had any accidents with the slicer?" Of course he never told them how he purposely infected their food with his green blood; that would jeopardize his species invasion plans.

414. Quickly, I need you to say the following code: Sierra, Charlie, Alpha, Romeo, Echo, Delta, Yankee, Oscar, Uniform. Good, they'll be after you now; good luck.

415. Never put off tomorrow what you can do today. There's not going to be a tomorrow for any of us.

416. "Crack open another cold one," I told the bartender. Reaching below the bar counter he pulled a human head out of the mini fridge, split it open and finished by placing the bar's trademark umbrella straw on the exposed brain.

417. I typing this warning with one hand. The creature tore off the other one.

418. The world was stunned when a massive crack appeared on the lunar surface. The situation got worse after they started to emerge from the breach.

419. I used to love peaches but now I can't stand the sight, smell or taste of them. About five years ago I was using canned peaches to make a cobbler; at the bottom of that can was a shriveled shrunken head.

420. Jullie was a fitness fanatic and had an extensive home gym. She discovers too late that the floor of her house was rotten; after the collapse her body lay in the basement, crushed under all the equipment meant to help strengthen her body.

421. As I watch my ants in their little farm toil away my mind starts to wonder. One thought bothers me: "Are we in a farm so big and complex that, like the ants, we are unable to perceive it?"

422. Opening her drawer Lucy let out a scream. Her favorite human skin had a run in it.

423. People often asked Henry, a paranormal investigator, if ghosts were real. His would simply answer, "Let me show you," while drawing his knife.

424. It was recently discovered that within the first few seconds of death the brain is astonishingly active; so the phenomenon of your life flashing before your eyes or life recap has been confirmed. This raises the surreal question: are you really experiencing your life or the recap?

425. The light from the monitor illuminated Jacob's haggard face. He'd been unable to sleep since the computer had forcefully assimilated him as an organic component.

426. From my desk I could hear the rat scurrying from inside my office wall. How the rodent was still able to move when it was merely a skeleton was beyond me.

427. After a great deal of practice Hannibal was finally able to fully control his lucid dreams. Unfortunately, the godlike power he possessed over his dreams could do nothing to rouse his body out of its coma or stop the doctors from turning off the life support.

428. The latest cartoon series "Manic Mark" was an instant hit with children. The program, like many before it, was designed to aid the impending invasion by making the human mind more compliant.

429. Fear of failure affects billions of people. It's like a noose choking off our will to reach our fullest potential; sounds like one of the worst kinds of monsters to me.

430. "Way hey up she rises... way hey up she raises, early in the morning," sang old Amos as he readied his fishing lures. He didn't have any trouble securing the pieces of bait to his large assortment of hooks until he got to the eyes; he hadn't realized how beautiful the young lady's eyes were.

431. "If a soundwave hits the right pitch they can liquefy your brain, so please be careful," said the doctor. "Don't worry doc; this booth is completely soundproof," I replied, "That poor bastard down there will be the only casualty of today's test."

432. Bill examined the body closely for any clues. He signed in relief when he couldn't find any; he'd just committed the perfect crime.

433. "I'm sorry Billy," I said tearfully as I pulled the trigger, "Mama says we have no other choice." Later my mother wraps her tentacles around me in a comforting embrace saying, "The human's meat will help us make it through the winter."

434. "It's this next right," said my passenger behind me. I swear the backseat was empty when I started the trip.

435. As he'd done a thousand times before, the captain took the plane to forty-two thousand feet. If he knew about the swarm of hungry creatures he would have stayed at a much lower altitude.

436. Brent smiled as his latest gardening project started to sprout. He knew the grey lifeless fingers poking out of the dirt would soon become a macabre corpse tree.

437. Once every year the world stands still. That's when he arrives and decides who won't live through the next three hundred and sixty-five days.

438. "I'm calling to inform you of this once in a lifetime opportunity," said a cheeky voice over the phone. Unable to hangup I was forced to hear in grizzly detail how he planned to kill me.

439. The party's theme was a masquerade ball. Every guest got the opportunity to kill, skin and clean the face of their selected victim; suffice to say each mask had a grizzly backstory.

440. Years ago I broke my parent's cuckoo clock. I smashed the timepiece when the little bird inside threatened to share my darkest secret.

441. The walls around me are all padded. It's the only way I have to quiet the screams outside.

442. Dirty clothes quickly pile up in my house because I hate my laundry room. On the days I venture into the room; I have to go down a long flight of stairs to get down there, put up with poor lighting, constantly fight off a gropy goblin, and carry heavy baskets of clean clothes up the stairs.

443. Brenda was the only member of her crew to make it back. Her escape wasn't through her resourcefulness or luck; she carried the first wave of the invasion force within her.

444. I am known throughout my community as the matchmaker. Everyone can recognise my handiwork when they find two corpses fused together.

445. Mrs. Temer lived alone out in the country. Her isolation came in handy on the rare occasion she had a guest over; no one could hear their screams.

446. The divider between the two lanes was broken in a terrible accident. With nothing to stop them the dead poured into the lane of the living as a great grey flood.

447. Navigating the graveyard of ships, the helmsman nervously looked around for signs of movement. Little did he know that the creatures responsible for the wreckage were already attached to his vessel's hull.

448. The cold seeped into me until I couldn't feel anything. I tried massage feeling back into my hands but the action caused them to crack and crumble.

449. So, are you ready for what comes next? Considering you instinctively answered the question posed to you by a voice in your mind I can assuredly you aren't.

450. The farmer rocked in his favorite chair, relishing the quiet evening. Looking down at his bloody hands he contemplated the sacrifice his quiet evening required.
