Two Sentence Horrors

Here's a collection or in a better word an anthology of two sentence horrors I cobbled together.

1. "I can't believe we escaped Jackson," said Richard with a sign. The creature pretending to be Jackson smiled in reply.

2. Jeffery stared intently at me from across the room. Despite his best efforts his parents will never see my monstrous form lurking in the dark.

3. Our best scientists spent years decoding the transmission from deep space. It reads as the following, "We couldn't stop them; they are coming!"

4. I press my ear against the wall and the sound of heavy foot steps grows clearer. My vessel lay stranded on the ocean floor.

5. When I was younger I used to watch TV static. When the face started to appear I stopped.

6. "The best way to deal with your phobia is immersion therapy," stated the doctor. My heart rate skyrockets when he released a dog sized spider into my cell.

7. The air feels crisp as I glide through the night sky. Below me the human tries in vain to escape his fate.

8. The crew of the sinking ship hurried to the life boats. The thing that tore a hole in their vessel watched and waited hungrily.

9. "Get the hell outta my house!" I yelled chasing the intruder. The nerve of the living; thinking they're special just because they gotta pulse.

10. "There's nothing in this closet," I say turning to face my trembling son. A large hand firmly grips my shoulder and pulls me toward the back of the small space.

11. Scientists dreamt that life could be found on Jupiter's moon, Europa. That dream became a nightmare when the icy satellite crack open revealing itself to have been an egg.

12. I hated walking down the long hallway in my grandmother's house. The eyes in the walls followed my every move.

13. "Humanity is ready for whatever lays ahead," declared the head scientist proudly. The hubris of his words became apparent when THEY started coming out of the portal.

14. You ever get a sudden shudder out of nowhere? That's your body alerting you that I'm lurking nearby.

15. "A-m-a-r-a-n-t-h-i-n-e Amaranthine," I say sweating profusely. "Very good," said the judge pulling the knife away slightly, "Now spell jacana."

16. The cracks in the glass spread and grow with each impact. My reflection grins wickedly as it continues to strike its side of the mirror.

17. I asked my smart computer what time the store closed. It responded in a monotone female voice, "Five minutes after you die."

18. My head is so congested. Everytime I blow my nose the creatures inside dig in deeper.

19. As I lay in bed a pair of strong arms pull me into an embrace. I'm single and live alone.

20. You have no idea how surprise I was at seeing Thomas again. I murdered him thirty years ago.

21. "With a few adjustments you'll really turn some heads," I say taking measurements. My reluctant client struggled against their restraints as I got to work.

22. I got this message from my brother on my voice mail today, "Maggy they're after me because I found proof of the simulation." I'm an only child.

24. Once upon a time there lived a beautiful princess. These are her bones.

25. People think the aging process is natural. They don't realize we're slowly draining the life out of them.

26. My eyes are locked on the approaching storm outside. Each flash of lightening illuminated a massive humanoid figure that stared back at me.

27. Stanley struggled in the backyard. That'll stop once I finish filling the hole.

28. "Fear is an unpleasant emotion caused by the belief that someone or something is dangerous, likely to cause pain, or a threat to one's self being," I relate to my companion. "You fear is justified," I say testing the blade's edge.

29. I proposed to Rachel under the light of the meteor shower. The idea of marriage was forgotten when the fiery objects in the sky started to scream.

30. You should have seen their faces when I opened the lid. The fools forgot to nail my coffin shut.

31. Be wary of strangers. Some of them only pretend to be human.

32. Ever wonder what lies among the stars? Well stop, that curiosity beckons them to our world.

33. I spent the afternoon wrapping a thick chain around the trunk of a giant tree. I pray the restraint will be strong enough to keep the tree from getting to me during the night.

34. Ever open a book that you couldn't put down? The hands that came out of this one have a death grip on my wrists.

35. I've been having problems with my kitchen sink. While the issues range from no hot water, little pressure, and slow drainage; the gnarled arm that tried to grab me is the most concerning.

36. I took several pictures of the snowman standing out in the field. After the fifth photo I realized that it was inching toward me.

37. "Baby it's cold outside," I say pressing my palm against the window. In the house my murderous wife screams as my dead icy touch leeches all the warmth from the structure.

38. Ever fall in love with someone's eyes. I have a collection of jars that contain all the pupils that I couldn't live without.

39. My attention was lock on the screen as words rapidly filled the page. I have yet to type a single letter.

40. Henry is my one true love. That's why I buried him under my bedroom floor.

41. I watched the mouse nimble greedily. In my paralyzed state I couldn't stop him.

42. The yelling and scream next door is disturbing. The house has been abandon since it burned down last year.

43. I debate pulling the parachute's ripcord. Was it better die quickly to the impact or slowly drift downward into the massive creature's maw?

44. I can't sleep with the lights on. If I do, my shadow will reach out from the wall and grab me.

45. Getting an odd feeling, I raise my head from the bathroom sink and check the mirror; thankfully, nothing's there. My neck then was hit by a wave of moist air as a voice said, "I have no reflection."

46. My client abruptly grabbed my wrist and started screaming. This shouldn't have happened; I'd just finished the embalming process.

47. I stare down at the still water below. Beneath the surface a dark shape clutches onto the hull of my boat.

48. Looking over at my other half, I said, "Pass me the leg." With a grunt my sibling head use their arm, on their side of the body, to tear the human's leg off.

49. You can't go around busting down doors. Instead, I prefer to traverse the shadows into the homes of my victims.

50. Swiftly and cautiously I work my way through the cords. What little luck I possessed ran out when my leg got caught in the web; the monstrous arachnid now knew my location.
