Tiny Man

Shrunk by a maniac!

To become tiny

John Gulliver was an English man, one who was a sophisticated poet with the tendency to fly abroad on many occasions. He was a seasoned traveller, one who thought he had seen it all. Then one day, he found himself in some mysterious little secret bar in Egypt. It was a hidden place, a creepy place. One no tourist was ever supposed to enter, but John was an adventurer, he always loved a good challenge. So upon entering he was greeted with suspicious eyes.

"What are you doing here?" One man with a long beard asked, speaking in Egyptian. Fortunately, John knew this language well, of course being multilingual was a must needed trait, especially for such a seasoned explorer as himself.

"Just exploring." He said in reply.

"You should not be here, American..." The bearded man said.

"Actually, I am English." John corrected him smugly.

"That is even worse!" Sneered the stranger, before exiting the bar. John thought entering this secret place was a big mistake and stood up to leave.

"Ah don't let that drunk scare you, stranger!" Laughed the bartender, "you have come for a unique time, yes?" He asked.

"Why yes, good fellow, I have." John grinned.

"Would you be interested in joining my curious amusements?" The bartender winked.

"Curious amusements you say?" John chuckled, "what would that be?"

"I can mix you a special cocktail, then tell you more..."

"How much?"

"No, sir. This is free drink!" The bartender giggled excitedly, "I have been itching to try this."

"Well, I couldn't thank you enough!" John cheered, as the bartender mixed him the unusual drink, which was a sparkling purple with fizzing bubbles.

"Drink up, my English friend!" The bartender smirked.

"Yum!" John licked his lips after taking his first sip, "what a drink!"

"Have some more..." The bartender smiled warmly.

"Don't mind if I do..." John nodded, chugging down the delicious cocktail, he couldn't even taste the alcohol in it. Yet the traveller soon felt light headed, then a little sleepy. Then very sleepy.

"Good... Drink..." He slurred before falling unconscious.

"Sweet dreams!" The bartender laughed wickedly.

John woke up feeling strange, like he had a hangover after drinking 10 pints of the strongest ale. His head was spinning and his vision was at first a bright, blinding blur.

"Where am I?" He asked himself, then as if in response, a giant spider-like finger tapped the glass he was trapped behind.

"What the fuck!" He screamed, as he stood up and looked around. The English man was now completely naked and sealed inside of a glass cylinder with 6 little holes in the brown roof above. He looked outside the foggy glass and could make out the bartender, smiling at him through it. Only the man's face alone was 3 times larger than John's entire body.

"I've been shrunk!" He gasped.

"That's right, my little friend!" Smiled the bartender, tapping the glass again with his giant finger.

"Is this... A glass jar?!" John cried, looking around madly.

"That's right, you were interested in joining my curious amusements, now you're the tiny man in a glass jar. Isn't that a fun attraction. You're going to be making me a lot of money from tourists who find my secret bar."

"No, but that's not right!" John roared, punching the glass that contained him, desperately trying to escape.

"You'll only cut your tiny little hands, tiny man!"

"My name is John Gulliver!"

"Not anymore it isn't." The bartender chuckled, "now be a good little pet and sit tight, my secret bar opens in a few hours so you better put on a good show for my special guests, otherwise I'll put a big spider in your little jar!"

"A... A spider?!" John gulped.

"You better behave yourself tiny man!"

John was speechless and only nodded. Soon enough he became the secret bar's main attraction, but unlike the classic children's novel, this Gulliver never escaped his glass prison.

Nowadays you can still find the skeletal remains of John in that very same glass jar, the bartender now calls this display "tiny skeleton". He's attached little strings under the arms, hands and legs, so he can animate John's corpse for the entertainment of his guests.
