In the heart of the dense, very old forest stood the Whispering Woods, a place covered in mystery and whispers of the abnormal. The town spoke in quiet tones about its eerie aura, warning of its unexplained occurrences. Very few dared to wander too deep, for those who did rarely came back the same, if they do come back that is.
Evera is a very adventurous girl with a appetite for the unknown, forgetting about the threatening tales. She has found herself drawn to the mysterious allure of the Whispering Woods. Her curiosity surpassed the warning, and she continued on a journey by herself into the heart of the forest.
The air grew thicker as she walked deeper, the tree canopies above blocking any warmth from the sun. Strange whispers, frightening and quiet, circled all around her, seeming to pour from the trees themselves. Though she got a very unsettling feeling in her chest, Evera continued, her determanation to get through the forest overriding her now growing fear.
As the sun began to descend, an odd mist crept among the trees, going in between the trunks like ghostly fingers. Evera’s heart rate quickened as the whispers grew louder, more noticeable, yet the words were difficult to understand, slipping through her ears.
A sudden rustling noise behind her made her turn around quickly, but the dense fog revealed nothing. Her steps were hesitant, she was very uncertain. It felt like she was being watched, a dark and heavy feeling lingering in the uncanny silence.
In the midst of her now growing fear, a light flicker in the distance, causing her to go deeper into the heart of these woods. Drawn by an unexplainable force, she followed the light, her hearting racing so fast you’d think it was about to burst.
As she got closer, the light turned into a humanly figure — a woman, ethereal and colorless, her form wrapiped in a gown that seemed to sway in a breeze that wasn’t there. Her piercing and heavenly gaze met Evera’s. A soft voice echoed in the air.
”Leave this place immediately, child, as it is not meant for you,” the woman whispered. “The woods hold secrets way beyond than what you humans could comprehend. You’re walking where the living and unseen spirits meet.”
A cold shiver raced down Evera’s back as the warning replayed in her mind like a broken record. But a stubborn curiosity continued to drag her towards the ghostly woman against her better judgement.
The spirits warning grew louder, and seemed more urgent, “Beware the shadows that are starving for a living soul. They seek to capture wandering souls like yours.”
Evera’s heart felt like it skipped a beat. Before she could process that last warning, the woods around her grew darker, the one warm whispers turned sinister, murmuring threats that made her blood run cold.
A surge of panic raced through Evera s she ran back the way she came, the woods seeming to scheme against her. The trees moaned, their branches reaching out as if to entry her. The whispers turned into hostile laughter, haunting her every move.
Just as she broke free from the woods, the air around her loosened up, and the whispers stopped, leaving her shaking on the edge of the woods, the terrifying memory of the spirits warning lingering in her mind.
Evera staggered away, her heart beating faster than she ver thought it could go. The Whispering woods had offered a look into a realm of the unknown, a place where the line between living and unseen spirits blurred—an expiernce that left her shaking but one she would never forget.
